Thermiser Max® Maximum Energy Efficient Rolling Door
Model Number: ESD30
Energy Efficient Insulated Rolling Doors
Our Thermiser Max® Insulated Rolling Door is today’s most energy efficient rolling door.
Built to order, our Thermiser Max® insulated door is tested and proven to perform best in exterior openings where maintaining environmental separation on each side of the door is necessary. Our Thermiser Max® Insulated Doors meet ASHRAE® 90.12, 2015 IECC® and California’s Title 24 air infiltration requirements with an independently tested value of less than 0.3 CFM/FT2 .
Our exclusive full perimeter door sealing system, combined with thermally broken guide construction and insulated curtains, minimizes air infiltration and thermal transference.
A green, energy efficient insulated roll up door that delivers a 94% decrease in air infiltration compared to standard products and can contribute to green building ratings. Because we care about the environment as much as you do, this overhead insulated door can help you achieve up to 38 points in five LEED certification credit categories.
Our commercial insulated door sealing system not only significantly reduces air infiltration but also reduces sound transmission. Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating is up to 30 for the curtain and up to 22 for the entire assembly. If an STC of 32 is desired, additional options are required. All configurations are evaluated per ASTM E90, based on testing a complete, operable assembly.

Of course, like all of Cornell’s rolling service doors, our insulated doors have many custom designed solutions. Contact our experienced Architectural Design Support Team for help in customizing our products to fit your specific application.
Our Thermiser Max Insulated Rolling Doors meet ASHRAE ® 90.1 and IECC® (International Energy Conservation Code) 2015 Section C402.5.2 Air Infiltration requirements with an independently tested value of less than .3 CFM/FT2.
The doors provide all the benefits of our standard rolling door offering, plus:
Climate Control: Our exclusive patent-pending sealing system, *(with thermally broken guide assemblies and a lintel seal), together with the insulated curtain, provides impressive reductions in air infiltration and thermal transference
Security: Our insulated curtain design features two layers of metal with foam in between, making the door stronger and more secure
Sound Reduction: The Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating is up to 30 for the curtain and up to 22 for the entire assembly, as tested per ASTM E90 (with a complete, operable assembly).
Usage These doors are constructed for daily use and can withstand operation of up to 20 cycles per day - that’s 50,000 cycles for the lifetime of the door.
If your requirements call for more than 20 cycles per day, high cycle construction is available.
Materials and Finishes Configuration:
Double skin interlocking roll formed interior and exterior metal slats :
Slats are filled with 7/8" thick closed cell pressure foamed in place urethane insulation:
Flame Spread Index of 0
Smoke Developed Index of 10 as tested per ASTM E84
CFC-free process with an Ozone Depletion Potential rating of 0
Meets foam plastic insulation requirements of the 2012 IBC®, section 2603
Available Operators Our doors can open by motor, chain, hand-crank, or push-up operation, depending on size, weight and/or frequency of operation.
Model MG - A medium duty operator for doors that will cycle less than 20 times per day
Model SG - A super duty, full logic operator for larger doors or doors that may periodically cycle more than 20 times per day
Aesthetics AtmoShield™ Powder CoatingTextured powder coat finish that combats the environments harsh wear and tear. This finish provides a thicker, more scratch resistant coat for added product protection.
Chain Diverter for MGH Operators This option moves the auxiliary chain out of the clear opening and to the side of the door - enabling free movement through the door and making a chain bag unnecessary.
Hood and Operator CoversMetal cover to protect the coil or operator from exterior weather, debris or to meet OSHA or UL 325 safety requirements.
SpectraShield™ Powder CoatingPolyester finish in more than 180 colors for durability, aesthetics, superior finish life and cost effectiveness.
Trim PackageIn applications where exterior aesthetics are important, such as hotels, condominiums, convention centers and parking garages, the addition of a trim package can cover unsightly hardware and contribute to the building's architecture.
Vinyl GraphicsAdd durable, full-color images to your curtains and hoods. Great for school logos and turning unused door space into profitable sponsorship opportunities in stadiums, amusement parks and retail stores.
Vision WindowsImprove aesthetics and visibility with one- or two-way windows incorporated in the curtain.
Performance UpgradesHigh Cycle SpringsHeavy duty springs manufactured to withstand cycles of 100,000.
Seismic Performance ValidationWe can provide project specific seismic calculations for all coiling doors that are mounted Face of Wall to steel or masonry. Seismic performance validation is per ASCE 7-05.
Safety and ProtectionEntrapment Protection DevicesEntrapment protection devices ensure that a motorized door or grille will not close on an object. If an object enters path of closure, the entrapment protection device will stop the door or grille from closing and return it to the fully open position.
Guide-Mounted InterlocksAn electrical cutout switch to prevent motor operation if locking device is not first disengaged.
HDBB (Heavy Duty Bottom Bar)The HDBB is 350% stronger than traditional bottom bars, preventing forklift damage to your Service or Insulated Door. The HDBB can pay for itself after the first impact and significantly reduce future maintenance costs.
Motor Mounted InterlockAn overload sensing device that prevents damage if motor operation is attempted when the door or grille is locked. Field wired guide mounted interlocks are no longer necessary.
RapidResponseRapidResponse doors are provided with 3' or 6' of extra curtain, an impactable bottom bar and removable lower guide sections. These features allow for faster repair of slat damage, reducing downtime and maximizing the lifetime value of your door.
Rolling Door Protector (RDP)The RDP eliminates costly fork truck damage to coiling doors by creating a physical barrier at the top of the door that absorbs impacts.
Wind LoadCan be configured to withstand the full range of specific wind load requirements including missile impact ratings.
Unique Design Solutions Sloping or Irregular OpeningsOur special bottom bar designs can address these conditions.
Superimposed DoorsCombine two different curtains on the same opening. Typically, an insulated door is used in conjunction with an open design rolling grille to provide ventilation. When extreme weather or sound resistance is desired, we can provide superimposed/double insulated curtain assemblies.
