Roll Up Counter Fire Shutters

When a fire occurs, preparedness is everything when seconds count. Where fires are unfortunately likely to occur, you will find rolling counter fire shutters and fire rated doors. Counter fire shutters are required to meet code anywhere a fire barrier or fire wall is needed. When a fire curtain or fire resistant wall is needed to prevent the spread off smoke or fire, fire shutter doors seal wall openings to compartmentalize any fire event.

Our rolling fire shutters, combined with our AlarmGard fire system, provide a failsafe activation when integrated into the building fire alarm control panel or they may be simply be activated by local smoke detectors. When they are notified aby electric signal, they close at a safe and reliable rate.

All Cornell drop down fire doors and counter fire shutters are UL labeled for up to 3 hours for superior separation and protection. Fire rated counter shutters are custom built to exact opening specifications using compact guides, slats, brackets and hoods for a smooth profile. When compact door components are desired, these rated shutters quickly and reliably close to the sill. UL labeled integral frame and sill units are available for 1½ hours. For a custom appearance and a quick install, slip-in units easily set into existing walls.

For enhanced smoke protection, optional SmokeShield smoke and draft control conforms to UL1784 and assures that smoke will be compartmentalized with the fire and not spread quickly throughout the facility, allowing safe egress for occupants.

AlarmGard Rolling Counter Fire Shutters are for use in rated masonry or drywall construction (wood or metal studs).

Optional safety devices on provide avisual and/or audible advanced warning when the door is about to close .

Available for motor, chain and crank operators, these devices prevent fire doors from closing from a power failure for up to 7 days.

Optional device that ties in to a building alarm system and closes a FireGard fire door upon alarm activation, rather than by melting its fusible link.

Textured powder coat finish that combats the environments harsh wear and tear. This finish provides a thicker, more scratch resistant coat for added product protection.

Hood and Operator Covers

Metal cover to protect the coil or operator from exterior weather, debris or to meet OSHA or UL 325 safety requirements.

Polyester finish in more than 180 colors for durability, aesthetics, superior finish life and cost effectiveness.

We can provide project specific seismic calculations for all coiling doors that are mounted Face of Wall to steel or masonry. Seismic performance validation is per ASCE 7-05.

Safely and conveniently test and reset the functionality of the fire door at floor level. May be flush or recess mounted.

Entrapment protection devices ensure that a motorized door or grille will not close on an object. If an object enters path of closure, the entrapment protection device will stop the door or grille from closing and return it to the fully open position.

An electrical cutout switch to prevent motor operation if locking device is not first disengaged.

An overload sensing device that prevents damage if motor operation is attempted when the door or grille is locked. Field wired guide mounted interlocks are no longer necessary.

Our Rolling Counter Fire Shutters with Integral Frame and Sill (counter top) are designed with reduced coil, bracket and header size (8” minimum) to fit tight clearances.

Countertops are available for a complete counter shutter closure solution, and can be UL rated.
