Overview

Eckoustic Functional Panels

Eckel’s Eckoustic Functional Panels (EFPs) provide a practical and economical way to drastically reduce the troublesome or hazardous acoustic conditions in a room or facility. EFPs can be spot-located on walls and/or ceilings to achieve the desired level of noise control, making them far more economical than conventional continuous treatments. Fire-resistant and durable, EFPs are easy to install and require little or no maintenance.

Design

EFPs are constructed of a frame of high-strength metal (aluminum, galvanized steel or stainless steel) encompassing acoustic absorptive material. This design provides excellent acoustic performance and structural integrity. An optional, patented “V”-ridge design improves sound absorption by holding the fibrous acoustic material away from the perforated metal face. The ridging increases the overall sturdiness of the panel and reflects sound waves back into the panel rather than back out into the host environment. Standard panels come in lengths of 4, 6, 8 and 10 feet but EFPs can be customized in size and finish to fit and complement any layout and aesthetic. They can be easily adjusted in terms of mounting distance, and tilted where necessary, to provide absorption at the most critical frequency.

Applications

EFPs are suitable for new or existing facilities. Since the specified level of noise reduction often requires that less than 25 to 30% of the reflective surface be covered, the panels can be installed around sprinkler heads, lighting fixtures, heating and ventilation ducts. They are particularly effective in gyms, indoor swimming pools andauditoriums while also providing noticeable acoustic improvement in a wide arrange of ather settings such as assembly halls, religious facilities, and restaurants. In settings like industrial and municipal plants, distribution centers, and manufacturing facilities, installing EFPs can meet or exceed OSHA requirements for safe noise thresholds thereby creating a healthier and safer work environment.
