PLASTICIZING ADMIXTURE WITH INTEGRATED COMPACTION AID

SikaMix® PL-200 is a specially formulated liquid admixture for drycast concrete application. SikaMix® PL-200 provides benefits of quicker wetting and enhanced cement dispersion. This allows superior cement utilization and significantly improved concrete compaction that lead to an increased concrete density, improved compressive strength and enhanced surface finish characteristics.
In addition use of SikaMix® PL-200 reduces concrete stickiness, especially in concrete with a higher w/c ratio or elevated concrete moisture content. This results in improved and more consistent mold filling with less density fluctuations and faster production rates.

Usage

SikaMix® PL-200 is recommended for use in all drycast concrete applications including concrete blocks, pavers, segmental retaining walls, pipes, hollow core slabs, concrete roof tile and other drycast elements.

Shelf Life

Shelf life when stored in dry warehouse conditions between 40°F and 80°F (5°C to 27°C) is one year.

Storage Conditions

SikaMix® PL-200 should be protected from freezing and stored above 40°F (5°C). If frozen, thaw and agitate thoroughly before use.

Application Information

Mixing

SikaMix® PL-200 can be added after the batching water or introduced at the end of the mixing cycle. Concrete must be mixed for sufficient time to enable uniform distribution of the admixture throughout the concrete. Do not introduce SikaMix® PL-200 up front, or directly onto dry cementitious materials, as this may reduce admixture performance.

Consumption

Recommended Dosage

SikaMix® PL-200 dosage rates will vary according to materials used, ambient conditions and the requirements of the concrete. Sika recommends dosage between 2-8 fl. oz. per 100 lbs. (130-520 ml/100 kg) of cementitious materials for drycast concrete applications. Dosage rates outside the recommended range may be used where specialized materials are specified, extreme ambient conditions are encountered or unusual project conditions require special consideration.
