Architectural Screening Redefined - Unveiling the Future: The Pinnacle of Strength and Sophistication. After almost twenty years, PalmSHIELD has redesigned the panel framework and column profiles of our signature screening system. The results provide considerable enhancements and greatly simplify the installation process. From custom infill materials (including the architectural louvers that are the favorite of engineers and designers nationwide) to a variety of finishes, we’ve got you covered. Whether your project requires a modern aesthetic or a blend with natural surroundings, PalmSHIELD Elite delivers unmatched versatility.
Revolutionizing Architectural Screening with Elite Precision.
Explore the cutting-edge features of the PalmSHIELD Elite framework-crafted to deliver the ultimate blend of strength, versatility, and contemporary design for any screening application.
Two Sided Finish
The Elite framework provides a finished appearance on both the inside and outside of the panel. Whether your infill choice is architectural louvers or any other option that we specialize in, your screens will be appealing for courtyards and balconies upon assembly.
Improved Appearance
Our new PalmSHIELD Elite system has a consistent 3” reveal around each panel. All infill designs incorporate into the vertical channels, providing a clean and sharp finish.
Pre-Panel Post Setup
The new tubular T + I-Beam column design allows you to set all your posts and then remove one of the I-beam flanges where you can slide the panel from the backside. Reattach the flange forming an I-Beam column and capturing the new vertical compression channel between the flanges of the I-Beam.
Quick-Set Posts with Tolerance
The column and vertical panel connection is designed with an architectural vertical seam. If your post setting varies, plus or minus a 3/8” inch, you will increase or decrease the architectural seam width.
Slope Adaptability
Panel installed elevations may vary at post by a -2.5% to 12%.
Faster Installation
Columns will arrive with the removable flange fully attached. Remove or loosen the flange and slide in the panel. A raised serrated edge will lock the panel into the column, not requiring additional fasteners.
Architectural Seams for Flexible & Consistent Design
Utilizing PalmSHIELD’s new tubular T+I Beam combined with our new vertical compression profile provides unmatched strength. Panel horizontal pull-out strength is exceeds 600 lbs, pulling the panel straight-out from the post. Panel adjustments vertically up or down exceeds 1400 lbs. PalmSHIELD utilizes no fasteners to attach the panel to the post. PalmSHIELD uses compression to sandwich the panel at the post, allowing for full flexibility in making vertical and horizontal adjustments.
PalmSHIELD’s exclusive engineered tubular I-Beam columns. These unique columns designed by PalmSHIELD allow the installer the option of setting all columns before installing the panels. The installer may also use a post, panel, post, panel install method. One of the two flanges of the I-beam column is removable through a series of stainless steel countersunk fasteners. By removing the flange, you may slide the panel in from the back of the enclosure. Once the panel is in place, you bolt the flange, forming the I-beam design. The vertical channels are locked into place as you tighten the flange to the column. No additional or exposed fasteners are needed.
These unique columns and PalmSHIELD’s unique tapered vertical panel channel incorporate an architectural seam. If post spacing varies slightly, integration of the I-Beam post and tapered vertical channel allow some forgiveness by increasing or decreasing the width of this seam on a per panel basis. The combination of the I-beam post, tapered vertical channel and horizontal top and bottom framework provide a consistent three inch reveal around each panel.
The vertical channels provide for a four inch wide cavity that is faced on the outside of the screening with a wide range of PalmSHIELD’s architectural finishes and materials. These may include PalmSHIELD’s signature architectural louvers, faux brick and stone, composite woods, vinyl, aluminum and louvered finishes and designs. The backside of the Silere acoustic panel is fitted with a perforated sheet. This perforated sheet allows for better sound absorption, wicking and drying of materials yet does not allow rodent access. In the middle and in between the decorative exterior and perforated interior sheets, PalmSHIELD has designed a structural Z horizontal rail to both support the panel weight and prevent the sheets from oil-canning. Additional Z clips may be included based on panel width and size.
Innovative Aluminum Sleeve for High-Performance Applications
PalmSHIELD has developed an innovative aluminum sleeve specifically for applications requiring heights over 10 feet, corner posts, and gate posts. This sleeve is engineered to match the performance of our new T/I Beam Post by effectively supporting the panels’ vertical compression profiles while offering the strength of steel posts to withstand higher wind loads, greater panel heights, and gates.
The aluminum sleeve is compatible with any tubular steel post 4 inches or larger and bolts directly to the post, maintaining the same flexibility in installation. Additionally, it provides the same adaptability for varied post spacing and heights as our T/I Beam Post system.
