Surface Enhancement & Finishing - SikaControl® FD-100

INTEGRAL FRESH CONCRETE DENSIFIER

SikaControl® FD-100 is a formulated liquid admixture used to densify freshly mixed concrete in interior flooring applications. SikaControl® FD-100 meets the requirements of ASTM C494, Type S admixture.

SikaControl® FD-100 increases density of freshly mixed non air entrained concrete. SikaControl® FD-100 is suitable for interior flooring applications with a hard trowel finish. Use of SikaControl® FD-100 results in dense concrete with reduced amount of pinholes, open pores and other surface defects. SikaControl® FD-100 helps to achieve concrete properties as described in the ACI 302.1R-15 - Guide to Concrete Floor and Slab construction. SikaControl® FD-100 provides the following advantages:

SikaControl® FD-100 is designed for use in non air entrained concrete applications only.

Shelf Life

Shelf life when stored in dry warehouse conditions between 40 °F and 80 °F (5-27 °C) is 6 months from date of manufacture. Protect from frost and direct sunlight.

Storage Conditions

Should be stored above 40 °F (5 °C). If frozen, thaw and agitate thoroughly to return to normal state.

Application Information

Mixing

To achieve the best performance add SikaControl® FD-100 into the mixing water. In cases when this is not possible, SikaControl® FD-100 can be dispensed directly to freshly mixed concrete in the mixer at the end of batching cycle. To achieve proper dispersion of the product throughout the entire concrete volume, mixing time of minimum 90 seconds is recommended. SikaControl® FD-100 should not be dispensed directly onto cement, slag or fly ash.

Combination with other Admixtures: SikaControl® FD-100 can be used in combination with other Sika admixtures, however, each admixture should be added separately to the mix. It is always recommended to verify actual performance by conducting trial batches.

Do not use SikaControl® FD-100 in air entrained concrete.
In cases, when SikaControl® FD-100 is stored in bulk tanks, periodical checks of dispensing lines are recommended to prevent product leakage. Use only oil resistant hoses. SikaControl® FD-100 may cause deterioration of rubber hoses.

Recommended Dosage

Recommended dosage rates will be typically between 0.5 to 3.0 fl.oz/100 lbs (32.5-195 ml/100 kg) of cementitious materials.
