Sealers - SikaCem®-190 Concrete Control
A non-film forming, low VOC, amorphous colloidal silica topical additive applied to freshly placed concrete that maintains adequate moisture while reducing the risk of concrete setting prematurely
SikaCem®-190 Concrete Control is a non-film forming, low VOC, amorphous colloidal silica topical additive (evaporation retardant and finishing aid) that is ideal for all decorative and colored concrete applications. Apply during floating and troweling of freshly placed concrete to control moisture loss. This allows proper hydration of the cement that will extend workability and makes finishing concrete flatwork easier and faster under adverse conditions such as wind, sun, high temperatures, or low humidity. SikaCem®-190 Concrete Control lubricates the surface and increases cream for a smoother finish, which makes troweling easier and faster. Colloidal silica densifies and improves surface consolidation resulting in increased compressive strength and abrasion resistance. SikaCem®-190 Concrete Control minimizes the potential for cold joints checking, crazing, curling, dusting, stains, and efflorescence on both standard and colored concrete.

Application
Application Steps
EQUIPMENTUse a high-volume, low-pressure, manual or commercial grade sprayer or pump up sprayer capable of spraying a fine mist.
MIXINGSikaCem®-190 Concrete Control is ready to use and requires no blending or dilution. Mild agitation is recommended before usage.
APPLICATIONSikaCem®-190 Concrete Control must be worked into the surface immediately after application. Apply SikaCem®- 190 Concrete Control using an automatic or low pressure pump sprayer. A fan or cone tip is recommended for even application. SikaCem®-190 Concrete Control can also be applied using the water tanks of a ride on trowel.
- Trowel Finished Concrete: Spray apply uniformly onto the concrete surface in three equal applications as follows:
- First application should be applied directly after the screed and before bull floating
- Second application shall be applied just before the first panning
- Third application shall be applied after panning is complete, during the finishing stage
- Trowel Finish Concrete-Finishing Recommendations:
- Follow industry best practice/procedures to begin the finishing process as you would on a standard pour
- Machine panning is not recommended for exterior/air entrained concrete
- Finish by burning/burnishing the floor to desired level
- Broom Finished Concrete: Spray apply uniformly onto the concrete surface in two equal applications as follows:
- First application should be applied directly after the screed and before bull floating
- Second application shall be applied before edging and refloating, prior to brooming
- Stamped or Color Hardened Concrete: Spray apply uniformly onto the concrete surface in two equal applications as follows:
- First application shall be applied directly after the screed and before bull floating
- Second application shall be applied before edging and refloating, prior to stamping or texturing
CLEANING OF TOOLSClean sprayers with warm, soapy water following use.
