Overview

ND Series Cylindrical Lock

The ND Series heavy-duty cylindrical lock is able to handle any application and is one of Schlage’s best-selling mechanical locks.

ND Series locks have been the most popular Schlage product ever since Walter Schlage invented the cylindrical lock in 1920. The ND Series is ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 certified and performs beyond the Grade 1 standards. The lock withstands 3,100 in-lb. of abusive lever torque, as well as 1,600 lbs. of offset lever pull for protection against pry bar attacks. The lock is not only strong from attacks, but it also shows nearly zero droop or wobble after 16 million cycles.

All ND Series locks come in 10 finishes, five lever designs and use an ANSI 161 door preparation, commonly used with cylindrical locks. They are ideal for all new construction and retrofit applications.

Features & Benefits

Security

  • Significantly exceeds ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 requirements
  • No access with minimum 3,100 in-lb. abusive lever torque, the equivalent of over 690 lbs. applied to the end of a 4-1/2" lever, 2.6 times over BHMA requirements*
  • No access with minimum 1,600 lbs. offset lever pull for protection against pry bar attacks, 8 times over BHMA requirements*
  • Nearly zero droop and wobble after 16 million cycles, 16 times over BHMA requirements*, without the use of set screws or o-rings

Function availability and convenience

  • 37 standard functions (custom functions available through the factory in Colorado Springs, CO)
  • Multiple key systems available: open, patented and restricted
  • Six electrified functions auto-detect 12/24V DC operation and, with maximum current draws of 0.4 amps, eliminate heated levers
  • Two spring cages support all cylinder formats

Aesthetics

  • Five lever and four rose design options
  • Ten available finishes
  • Suites with Von Duprin exit devices and other Schlage products

Options

  • Vandlgard free-wheeling outside trim option available on most functions
