Overview

CORLIX® Corrugated Aluminum Culvert and Drainage Pipe

CORLIX corrugated aluminum culvert and drainage pipe is the ideal pipe for municipal culverts, storm sewers, underground stormwater detention systems or any standard drainage project that must withstand alkali soils and erosive environments.

The Ideal Pipe for Alkali Soils and Erosive Environments

CORLIX® aluminum culvert and drainage pipe provides a predictable service life of more than 75 years. It is the ideal pipe for municipal culverts, storm sewers, underground storm water detention systems or any standard drainage project that must withstand alkali soils and erosive environments. In addition to its long design life, CORLIX is an economical alternative to reinforced concrete pipe.

CORLIX weighs only 1/35 as much as reinforced concrete. Lighter weight means easier installation. Trench width (and depth) are reduced due to the smaller outside diameter, resulting in time and cost savings for both excavation and backfill.

Single lengths up to 40 feet ensure more accurate pipe alignment at time of placement and through the life of the system. Longer lengths save installation time with fewer joints.

Easy, fast pipe cutting on the job is simple with standard tools. Since there are no riveted joints, CORLIX can be cut at any point. Cuts and welds need no protective treatment. Wide availability of fittings saves installation time in the field. Fabricated elbows, manholes and catch basins minimize hydraulic losses at junction structures.

CMP and PVC Pipe for Pipe Reline

Lining failing structures with corrugated metal material or plastic pipe uses little of the available area, preserving the maximum amount of the original opening. Due to the hydraulic efficiency of Contech products, often a smaller structure provides the same hydraulic capacity as the original because of the low Manning “n” factors of A-2000™ and A2™ Liner PVC pipes and HEL-COR® and ULTRA FLO® CMP. Existing culverts and arches are generally lined with structures of the same shape, though slightly smaller in size. Rectangular openings can be lined with round, elliptical or pipe arch structures. Corrugated metal structures can fit almost any existing shape. CORLIX® is an ideal liner pipe in highly alkaline soils.

CMP for Culverts, Canals and Ditch Enclosures

Our corrugated metal pipe is the most durable, economic, and widely chosen material for most drainage culverts applications. With a variety of CMP products including helically corrugated HEL-COR® and spiral wound ULTRA FLO® and corrugated aluminum CORLIX® , Contech offers engineers and contractors flexibility in designing drainage solutions to best fit their projects’ exact requirements.
