Solera® Engineered Daylight Diffuser

We live in an ocean of daylight and we want to bring it indoors. Daylight defines form and volume, impacts the functionality of the space, and it has a significant impact on humans in the space.

Daylight also provides serious financial paybacks including energy savings, human performance and increased rental and resale value. Daylight provides so much for humans and their space, so where are all the daylighted buildings?

Glare makes daylighting with vision glass problematic. Traditional daylighting workarounds including building orientation and overhangs aren’t always practical, they’re often expensive and don’t provide excellent results due to the movement of the sun during the day and across the seasons. Bolt-on workarounds such as blinds and awnings are expensive and unattractive. While these solutions block glare, they also block sunlight.

To have daylighting in your space without glare, we need to change the directionality of sunlight. Traditional methods including plastic-based FRP and Polycarbonate/Acrylics and glass-based including acid-etched glass or white laminate provide low level light redirection.
