Product Presentation

CASTLETOP, a diamond shaped simulated shingle, lends an exceptional appearance to both residential and commercial buildings. Manufactured from copper, zinc or aluminum, this lightweight yet durable metal shingle is ideal for re-roofing applications as well as new construction.

CASTLETOP shingles have a turned down edge on the front and a turned up edge on the back that provides double sealed protection. Additionally, its overlapping design allows for contraction and expansion caused by temperature fluctuations.

Sizes and Profiles:

CASTLETOP diamond shaped shingles measure 15-3/4” by 15-3/4”. Actual exposure is 14” by 14”. There are 78 shingles per 100 square feet.

Composition and Materials:

CASTLETOP shingles are manufactured from .032 Aluminum, 16 oz. Copper or .028 weathered Zinc. An expanded polystyrene backer board gives strength to the shingle to allow for foot traffic during installation.

Color and Finish:

Aluminum shingles are available in a choice of 27 colors with a Kynar 500® or Hylar 5000® based finish. (Request color chart or chips.) Copper and zinc shingles have a natural finish.

Specifications

Note to specifiers: CASTLETOP shingles serve the architectural needs of roofing, fascia and mansard systems. For detailed product specifications in a 3-part standard format visit our web site at www.atas.com

Installation

CASTLETOP shingles are installed similar to traditional shingles. The shingles have a turned down edge on the front and a turned up edge on the back for double sealing protection. A concealed fastening system is used. Different colors may be combined to create interesting patterns. Installation manuals or hands-on training through seminars are available. Contact ATAS technical service advisors for information.

Maintenance

CASTLETOP shingles are virtually maintenance free. The high quality finish will not fade, chalk, crack or peel, and since the substrate is metal, the shingle will not warp, rot or break. Surface residue may be easily removed by conventional cleaning methods. Minor scratches may be touched up with a matching paint, available from the manufacturer.
