Product Presentation DUTCH SEAM is ATAS integral standing seam roof system. It is available in three pan widths and 27 standard colors. DUTCH SEAM is a structural panel that can be fastened directly to purlins or over a solid underlayment. The lock and seam are an integral part of the panel. By eliminating the need for caps or strips to install the panel, blow off or creeping of the strips is avoided. Additionally, field seaming of the panel is not required. Simply snap the panel onto the previously installed panel; fasten the clip, and the panel is in place. The anti-siphoning design of the lock eliminates all capillary action. The vertical leg formed on the panel serves a dual purpose. It strengthens the panel and acts as an extra water barrier. A clip is hooked low on the panel leg. Fastening the panel close to the base counteracts the effects of wind uplift. All the clips and fasteners are concealed by the seam of the consecutive panels, and a specially designed plug of the same metal as the panel is used to close the end of the seam. DUTCH SEAM panels can also be tapered for placement on a conical roof. Sizes and Profiles: Dutch Seam panels are 11 wide (MRD110), 15 wide (MRD150) or 19-1/4 wide (MRD194). The seam and lock are an integral part of the panel. Panel lengths are cut to customer specifications, with a minimum of 2 and a maximum to transportation limitations. Specify with or without stiffening ribs. Composition and Materials: Dutch Seam panels are roll-formed from .032 - .040 aluminum and 24 gauge metallic coated steel with the Kynar 500® or Hylar 5000® coating; also available in 16 oz and 20 oz copper. Exceptions: Color and Finish: A choice of 27 colors is available with a Kynar 500® or Hylar 5000® based finish. (Request color chart or chips.) Galvalume® coated steel is available in mill finish only. All panels available in anodized aluminum, Clear and Dark Bronze. Texture may be smooth or stucco embossed. Specifications Note to specifiers: DUTCH SEAM Panel System serves the structural and architectural needs of roofing/fascia and mansard systems. Warranty The Kynar 500® or Hylar 5000® based paint finish carries a thirty- (30) year limited warranty against chipping, cracking, peeling, chalking and fading. Availability and Cost DUTCH SEAM panels are readily available through ATAS product distributors. A complete line of accessories in matching or coordinating colors is available to complete a project. Valleys, Ridge Caps, Gable and Eave trims are formed to customer specifications. Ridge Caps, Soffit or other Trim Designs can be lanced for ventilation. Coil stock or flat sheet can be provided for field fabrication of custom flashings. Cost:
Installation With the lock and seam being an integral part of the panel, there are no caps or strips to install. Field seaming of the panel is not required. The panel is snapped onto the previously installed panel, a clip is hooked over the leg of the panel, and this is concealed by the seam of the consecutive panel to allow for expansion and contraction. Minimum recommended slope is 2:12 dependent upon roof geometry and local climate conditions. ATAS also manufactures a complete lightweight framing system for converting flat roofs to the correct slope. Maintenance DUTCH SEAM panels are virtually maintenance free. The high quality finish will not fade, chalk, crack or peel, and since the substrate is metal, the panel will not warp, rot or break. Surface residue may be easily removed by conventional cleaning methods. Minor scratches may be touched up with a matching paint, available from the manufacturer. Technical Services Complete technical information and literature is available from ATAS International, Inc. ATAS will assist with design ideas and estimates and offers shop-drawing services.
