No longer will you have this issue as Doralco has created the world's smallest center lock housing in the Slimline Center Lock Housing.

This product measures only 2 1/2" wide × 3 1/2" tall in lieu of the standard 6" × 12". It allows for the focus to be on the entrance and not on the locking mechanism.

Unfortunately, one cannot always have a lock in bottom glass door rails and you need a center lock housing. Some codes even require that someone can not be required to bend down to the floor.
