Green Walls / Green Facades
When designing a successful wall mounted green façade trellis there are several important considerations. The greenscreen® trellis panel is fabricated with a continuous welded wire truss system that creates a three inch depth with unique structural capabilities for mounting and attachment. The unique three-dimensional design of the greenscreen® trellis panel provides a "captive growing space" for plant material. Plants climbing vertically onto a support structure utilize either main-stem twining, leaf hooking, separate twining tendrils, or have runner/scrambler characteristics. All of these plant attachment types benefit from the additional support of the greenscreen® three-dimensional construction that provides virtually continuous plant support, adequate room for plant development to maturity, and an excellent surface for trimming and plant maintenance. Wall Mounted: The greenscreen® Wall Mounted trellis is designed to be supported by a system of attachment hardware that keeps the panel just off the wall surface, not layered directly against the building or structural membrane. When installed off of the surface, the space adjacent to the building or structure provides air circulation contributing to plant health, reduction of potential moisture build up at the building surface, and also enables the plant's attachment characteristics to utilize the three dimensional characteristics of greenscreen®. Attachment: greenscreen® has a complete collection of necessary wall mount attachment hardware available in matching powdercoat finishes. This clip system provides flexibility to increase the space between the mounting surface and the trellis panel to accommodate structural elements, conduits, drainage components, and other irregular surface conditions.

Because the web truss structure is integral and not intermittent, the greenscreen® panel does not need to be held in tension or require a heavy structural frame to surround the panel. Our Wall Mounted-Mounting Options document provides a diagram for clip locations on panels of varying sizes. For special wind loads exceeding 90mph, or exceptional ice load and wind load conditions, we have the experience and engineering to help with special design requirements. Modular panels typically are aligned to create green walls and to cover large surfaces. greenscreen® has two optional edge trims available for using as visual accent, for use as a closure strip at perimeter areas adjacent to pedestrian access or windows, or for trimming panels that are designed in unique shapes or cut at angle.
