Kalwall’s unique Wall Systems offer an endless variety of configurations
for total design flexibility. Color, pattern, scale, shape and light transmittance
and reflection all can be varied. Thermal Break Systems, Explosion Venting and
Kalcurve™ curved panels are all available to meet special conditions. Corrosion
resistant finishes are available in several colors.
WALL SYSTEMS
Kalwall can be all or part of the wall of any structure, or even a prefabricated curtainwall system that wraps the entire structure. Kalwall Panel-Unit Wall Systems can include opaque spandrels, windows and louvres, if required, manufactured by Kalwall. Panels and entire systems can be FM Global Approved.
Designing
PANEL-UNIT WALL:
COMPONENTS
Kalwall components can be factory preassembled in any combination up to 5' wide
x 35' high (1500 mm x 10700 mm). Panel-units arrive at the job site ready for
installation with no additional finishing required. Panel-units eliminate superfluous
structure required with most other systems.
STANDARD PANEL SIZES
Width — 4' and 5' (1200 mm and 1500 mm) other widths up to 5'-0" (1524
mm) are optional.
Length — 3' to 20' (914 mm to 6096 mm) standard, 16' (4880 mm) maximum
for skyroofs.
Thickness — 2-3/4" (70 mm) and 4" (100 mm), 1" (25
mm) thick glazing panels available for sash infill.
METAL FINISHES
The installation system is available in mill finish or Kalwall Corrosion
Resistant Finish, a high-performance coating that meets AAMA 2604. The
finish is highly resistant to acids, alkalis, salt, industrial and moisture-laden
atmospheres.
STANDARD GRID DESIGNS
Nominal grid size – 12" × 24" (300 mm × 600 mm) standard; 8" × 20"
(200 mm × 500 mm) optional for flat and curved panels.
OPTIONAL GRID DESIGNS
Other designs and grid sizes available. Please note that spans will
vary with different grid patterns. Consult factory.
TRANSLUCENT COLORS
White and Crystal are standard but other colors are available. The
Kal-tint series and pebble finish are options. Colored translucent insulation
inserts are available in an endless palette of colors.
THERMAL BREAK SASH
Kalwall manufactured, AAMA AW50 tested projecting sash
for top performance up to 5' wide by 3' high (1500 mm × 900 mm). Fixed,
slider, and side hinge units also available. Glazing of all types, including
up to 1" (25 mm) Kalwall factory installed, if specified. Hurricane impact-resistant options available.
OPAQUE PANELS
Sandwich panel construction with translucent panel, fiberglass, aluminum
or other faces.
LOUVERS
Specify Kalwall louver as required.
QUICK, LOW-COST INSTALLATION
Kalwall interconnected structural components form rigid, modular units which replace
the heavy mullions and floating panels of other curtainwalls. Normal loads are
dispersed throughout the panels, rather than converging on the mullions. The unique
construction and extreme structural strength of the components permit the largest
panel-unit wall sections to be installed quickly and efficiently.
WALL: CLAMP-TITE INSTALLATION SYSTEM
These details apply to standard Kalwall 2-3/4" (7 mm) panels. The 4" (100 mm) system is similar. Systems for special conditions, e.g.
Kalcurve, Thermal Break, Explosion Venting, Concealed Fasteners, Long Spans,
etc., are available. Corrosion resistant finishes in several colors are also

These are standard Clamp-tite™ details. Systems for other
conditions, e.g. back fastened, horizontally oriented, concealed fastener,
Kalcurve™ , Explosion Venting or Blast Resisting are similar,
but do contact Kalwall for specifics. High-performance coatings
