Laminated glass is produced by bonding a plastic interlayer (PVB) between two or more panes of glass under heat and pressure. The result is, if the glass is broken, fragments tend to adhere to the plastic layer reducing the risk of injury. Guardian's laminated glass can utilize multiple substrates including clear, tinted and high performance glass and meets the current requirements of the ASTM E-1172 "Standard Specification for Laminated Architectural Float Glass." SunGuard® SuperNeutral 68 (SN 68) offers dollar-saving solar control and it can be laminated for outstanding hurricane-rated performance. Plus its clear, neutral appearance is a design advantage for virtually any application. Features and Applications Safety Laminated glass' safety characteristics allow it to be a substitution for tempered glass with the added advantage of the glass remaining in the frame if broken. As hurricane codes are passed in coastal areas throughout North America, laminated glass will be in high demand.
