Artech Condos Phase 2, Aventura, FLSummary Project Name: Artech Condos Phase 2 Case Study This project featured 32,000 square feet of the OGi VisiScreen louver in a variety of applications. The imagination of architect, Carlos Ott, and his familiarity with OGi products from projects including JADE on Brickell and JADE on the Beach helped to create new and different uses for VisiScreen. The primary application was as a functional and decorative grille system on an 800 foot long 5-story parking garage designed to resemble a cruise ship. VisiScreen allowed for 60% visual block and deflection of car headlights from adjacent condo buildings. It allowed the parking structure to be naturally ventilated by offering 65% open air flow. 
The flexibility, strength and durability of the VisiScreen allowed it to be modified and fabricated for installations at the skywalks connecting the parking garage to the condo building. It also serves as an ornamental canopy for the car-drop and main entrance. At the penthouse level, VisiScreen was used as an ornamental handrail and cornice feature. 
VisiScreen was installed using a variety of fabricated aluminum tubular frames and engineered to support all Miami-Dade County hurricane wind load requirements. The product was installed with a clear anodized finish to enhance the natural look of the aluminum and increase its long term weatherability. Ohio Gratings, Inc. |
