Steelcraft Drywall EASY-SET® Frames Drywall (DW- and K-Series) frames are designed to be installed in rough openings after the wall is up. Drywall frame corners lock together once the frame is assembled. The tab design prohibits the head from rising and keeps the jamb members in the same plane. EASY-SET frames can be installed in minutes and can be relocated without damage to the frame. EASY-SET frames are available manufactured from cold-rolled steel (CRS) or A60 hot dipped galvannealed steel. DW-Series and K-Series frames are available only as KD (knock down); welded construction is not available. K- Series frames have two dimples at the base of the frame in each face to locate anchor screws. Screws typically covered with trim. DW-Series and K-Series frames are supplied with rubber bumpers installed, (3) per strike jamb and (2) per head for pairs of doors. Recommended Usage Hollow metal and solid core wood doors, 1-3/4" (45mm) thick: DW16 (1.3mm) and K16 (1.3mm). Optional construction: ceiling height frames with transom panels and borrowed lite frames are available in the DW-Series and K-Series. Drywall frames are for interior use only. Not recommended for masonry walls or exterior applications.
