DEX-O-TEX CHEMINERT TERRAZZO FLOORING

1.) PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

A) Composition
Dex-O-Tex Cheminert Terrazzo flooring is an epoxy resin composition which incorporates marble chip aggregates. After power grinding the resulting terrazzo finish is thin-section, jointless and extraordinarily durable.

Typically installed to thicknesses of either 1/4” (6,35mm) or 3/8” (9,52), Dex-O-Tex Cheminert Terrazzo is available in a very wide range of background colors. Marble chip combinations should be selected from among those types and colors regionally available.  Granite or glass aggregates can be substituted, at a price premium, for marble chip aggregates. The use of white metal (zinc) dividing strips is not required except as described for decorative effect and/or the junction of base and floor.

Crossfield Products Corp. producers of Dex-O-Tex Cheminert Terrazzo, is a Manufacturing Member of the National Terrazzo and Mosaic Association (NTMA), the terrazzo industry trade organization. Dex-O-Tex Cheminert Terrazzo meets all physical requirements of NTMA recommended product specifications.

As an option, Dex-O-Tex Cheminert Terrazzo is available in the Dexcide series which incorporates antimicrobial chemistry to control the growth of microorganisms (bacterial, fungi, etc.) on the floor surface. This feature is available at a very modest additional cost.

B) Typical Uses
Any areas where terrazzo floors are traditionally used including lobbies, churches, corridors, restrooms, pharmaceutical manufacturing, etc.

C) Advantages - Limitations
Advantages:
1. Thin section, light weight
2. Monolithic

Limitations:
1. If sub-surface cracks, Dex-O-Tex Cheminert Terrazzo may crack to some degree - consult Crossfield Products for recommendations to reduce or eliminate cracking, such as the use of Dex-O-Tex SC Membrane.
2. When installed onto on-ground concrete floor requires functioning vapor barrier to prevent upwards water vapor transmission which may result in loosening of epoxy floors or improper curing of epoxy materials. Consult Crossfield Products for recommendations such as the use of Dex-O-Tex Vapor Shield.
