Power Drive Systems Assure Smooth Operation

Telescopic seating systems can be designed in many ways to achieve the most versatility. However, with the stringent building codes of today and the many accessories to choose from, it is a good idea to consider the "code" requirements first. How many aisles and how many handicapped spaces will I need are always questions that seem to pop up at the wrong time. Let our inside sales and engineering staff help get the project started off on the right track.

PRODUCT PRESENTATION

Irwin Telescopic Seating Co. strongly recommends using a powered system to open and close bleachers. Our power systems enhance the overall safety and life span of the bleacher installation. Power operation represents the best long-term investment for the facility operator. Please call us to help select the optimum power operation system for your project.

Non-Friction Drive System: Models 36 and 76

Each Non-friction Power unit is completely enclosed for safety and fire protection. Internal limit controls, sealed bearings and heavy duty construction assure long life and low maintenance. For additional safety, this unit operates at 14 to 16 FPM and is only available with a walk-along pendant control. A long-term advantage for mid-size to large installations.

Non-Friction Drive System: Model 25

The Model 25 Non-Friction Power unit has been designed for small to mid-sized telescopic systems and is an inexpensive upgrade from friction power operation. This unit offers the same safety and operational advantages as the Model 36 and 76.

Friction Power Operation

Standard equipment on our friction power unit includes a #50 pre-stretched roller chain and sprockets, chain tightener, steering mechanism, weight trays and weights. Each unit is individually installed and floats to compensate for uneven floor conditions. For safety, this unit operates at 18 FPM or less.

Note: All power systems shall be U.L. Listed (#E168517)

Manual Operation Devices

Manual operating devices are available to open and close individual bleacher sections.

  • Portable Operator Handles for units up to 7 rows high and sections up to 20’ long.
  • Portable Power Tractors with "tug-frames" can operate bleacher sections up to 7 rows high and 20’ long.

We do not recommend the use of manual sections over 20’ long.

Please call us to select the optimum manual system for your project.
