Acrylic Latex Admixture

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
425 Multi-Purpose Acrylic Latex Admixture is a high solids acrylic emulsion designed to improve the performance of Hydroment Ceramic Tile Grout, Hydroment Dry Tile Grout, Hydroment Tile-Mate Thin Set Mortars, Hydroment Single Flex F.S. (Fast Set) Mortar and 4:1 Floor Mix.

PRODUCT USES

• Controls hydration rate (curing) of cement mortars and grouts
• Use with thin set mortars to provide adhesion to non-masonry substrates such as plywood, waterproofing/crack isolation membranes and porcelain tile
• Use with cement based tile grouts. Helps to ensure consistant cure results and better color development
• Improve water resistance of grouts, thin-sets and mud beds
• Improve flexural and compressive strengths
• Helps prevent cracking grout in wood framed structures
• Use 425 Multi-Purpose Acrylic Latex Admixture to prepare bond coats
• Use in jobsite prepared mortar “mud” beds or with 4:1 Floor Mix

AS A THIN SET ADMIXTURE
Mix Hydroment 425 Multi-Purpose Acrylic Latex Admixture with Tile-Mate mortars to create latex-modified thin sets. Addition of 425 Multi-Purpose Acrylic Latex Admixture provides the necessary adhesion to plywood sub-floors, porcelain tiles, gypsum board, cementitous backer boards, waterproofing and crack isolation membranes. The addition of 425 Multi-Purpose Acrylic Latex Admixture provides frost resistance required for exterior installations which are subject to freeze thaw conditions. 425 Multi-Purpose Acrylic Latex Admixture may also be added to Single Flex F.S. (Fast Set) for difficult substrates or to improve flexibility for installations up to l/240.

FOR MORTAR BEDS AND BOND COATS
BOND COAT: (also called skim coat, pure coat, neat cement coat). Mix 425 Multi-Purpose Acrylic Latex Admixture with white or gray Portland cement to a creamy consistency.

MORTAR BEDS:
Mix 2 1/2 to 3 quarts per 50 lb. bag of Hydroment 4:1 Floor Mix, to improve durability and moisture resistance.

Follow ANSI A108 recommendations for the jobsite preparation of mortar beds. Substitute 100% or 50% 425 Multi-Purpose Acrylic Latex Admixture for water to increase moisture resistance and overall durability.

PRIMER:
Use 425 Multi-Purpose Acrylic Latex Admixture as a primer for Bostik 103 Self-Leveling Underlayment, 102 Fast Patch and 101 Floor Patch.

Coverage is about 200 sq. ft./gallon depending on substrate texture.

APPLICABLE STANDARDS
Hydroment Ceramic Tile Grout and Dry Tile Grouts exceed the requirements of ANSI A118.6 (Specification for standard cement grouts for tile installation) & ANSI 118.7 (Specification for polymer modified cement grouts for tile installation) when mixed with undiluted 425 Multi-Purpose Acrylic Latex Admixture

Hydroment Tile-Mate, Hydroment Floor & Wall Mortars exceed the requirements of ANSI A118.4 (Specification for latex-portland cement mortar) and ANSI A118.11 (Specification for exterior grade plywood, latex-portland cement mortar) when mixed with undiluted Hydroment 425 Multi-Purpose Acrylic Latex Admixture

LIMITATIONS

• Do not freeze
• Do not mix 425 Multi-Purpose Latex Admixture with Hydroment Plus, polymer modified grouts.
• Do Not Mix 425 Multi-Purpose Latex Admixture with Single-Flex, Hydroment PM Thin Set or Reflex.
