AMBICO has designed and perfected performance rated bullet resistant doors and frames fabricated from steel and a separate line of bullet resistant wood doors.


BULLET RESISTANT STEEL DOORS & FRAMES

AMBICO bullet resistant steel doors and frames are secure from ballistic attack yet have the appearance of standard hollow metal products. Our complete range of bullet resistant products are readily available and can be furnished with factory installed bullet resistant glazing. Stock bullet resistant steel doors and frames are ready for immediate shipment. Bullet resistant steel door and frame assemblies are available in both swing and sliding door formats.

AMBICO manufactures bullet resistant steel doors and frames that meet the following standards:

  • UL Level One standard to protect against Medium Power Small Arms (Super 38 Automatic).
  • UL Level Two standard to protect against High Power Small Arms (.357 Magnum Revolver).
  • UL Level Three standard to protect against Super Power Small Arms (.44 Magnum Revolver).
  • UL Level Four standard to protect against high power rifle attack (30-06 Rifle) where anticipated threat levels are extremely high.
  • UL Levels Five through Eight to protect against military assault weapons using armor piercing ballistics.
Installations have been completed in a variety of highly secure installations: banking institutions; federal investigative and policing agencies; power and energy facilities and office buildings; galleries; military/naval/air force installations; medical facilities and courthouses.


BULLET RESISTANT WOOD DOORS & STEEL FRAMES

AMBICO bullet resistant wood doors and steel frames combine ballistic security with the appearance of standard door and frame products. Our complete range of bullet resistant products is readily available and can be furnished upon request with factory installed bullet resistant glazing.

AMBICO’s bullet resistant wood doors perform to the following levels:

  • UL Levels One through Three protect against a variety of small arms ranging from Super 38 Automatic through .44 Magnum Revolver.
  • AMBICO offers products that offer UL Level Four protection against high power rifle attack (30-06 Rifle).
  • AMBICO fabricates wood door products tested to provide ballistic protection in conformance with UL Levels Five through Eight.
  • All products conform with UL 752 "Standard for Safety for Bullet Resisting Equipment".
Face veneers are available in a wide variety of paint grade or stain grade options.  All doors are available 1 3/4" (44.5 mm) thick.  Units have been designed to accept readily available heavy weight builders hardware.


TORNADO RESISTANT STEEL DOORS & FRAMES

AMBICO tornado resistant steel doors and frames combine the ultimate in wind and impact resistance and yet appear identical to standard hollow metal doors and pressed steel frames. Doors and frames are supplied with locks and hinges factory pre-installed.

Products are manufactured in compliance with FEMA #361 "Design and Construction Guidance for Community Shelters".

Units have been tested to allow for openings as large as 8'0" x 8'0" (2438 MM x 2438 MM), the largest in the industry. Doors and frames are available in singles or in pairs. Fire labeled products have been tested in accordance with NFPA-80 and are certified by Underwriters Laboratories.

Units have been tested and are supplied with one of a variety of locking options including mortise sets or exit devices. Doors and frames are provided with hardware as part of an entire assembly.

Tornado Resistant installations have been completed in schools and recreational centers as well as in archives, banks and storage buildings where protection of physical assets is a priority.


LEAD LINED STEEL DOORS & FRAMES

Lead lined steel doors and frames combine protection against radiation with the appearance of standard hollow metal products. A full range of fire rated and non-fire rated products are readily available in both mild steel and stainless steel.

Door and Frame products can be supplied with lead varying in thickness from 1/32" - 1" (.8 mm - 25.4 mm). Products provide radiation protection in hospitals and health clinics. As well, unique products are provided for CT Scanners, linear accelerators and MRI facilities.

Swinging or sliding doors may be used as well in specific industrial applications such as aeronautics where the use of X-Ray technology is integral to the manufacturing process. Most products have been fire tested in accordance with NFPA-80 and are certified by Underwriters Laboratories. Fire labeled products may be supplied in singles or in pairs.

Lead lined steel doors and frames manufactured by AMBICO have been installed in: hospitals; medical laboratories; cancer treatment centers; hospitals and clinics as well as airplane manufacturing facilities.


STEEL DETENTION DOORS & FRAMES

AMBICO’s steel detention doors and frames are designed to withstand the punishing abuse of the prison environment. Our detention products combine the appearance of standard hollow doors and frames with the toughest engineering criteria in the industry.

  • Clients will receive outstanding lead times on small production runs.
  • Products comply fully with NAAMM/HMMA Standard #863, the leading specification in the industry.
  • Doors and frames are designed in compliance with UL 752 "Standard for Bullet Resistance".
  • Detention doors can be supplied with gun ports, glazing, louvers, speaking devices or food pass-throughs factory pre-installed.
  • Products are warranted for five years.
  • Doors can be manufactured in 13/4" (44.5 mm) or 2" (51 mm) thick panels.
  • Products are able to withstand fire for up to three hours duration in accordance with current UL standards.
AMBICO has completed a number of installations in municipal, state, provincial and federal institutions.
