- Not for use with lug back tile on floors, or for setting bathroom fixtures.
- Not for use in areas subject to constant water exposure,
immersion or hydrostatic pressure.
- Do not apply to presswood, particleboard, luan, masonite, or chipboard.
- Not for use in steam rooms or submerged applications.
- Not recommended for use over a waterproofing membrane. Use a LATICRETE Latex Fortified Mortar for these applications.
- Use LATAPOXY 300 Adhesive for installing green marble or water sensitive natural stone and agglomerate tile products.
- Maximum wall tile size 10" x 10" (250 mm x 250 mm), maximum floor tile size 6" x 6" (150 mm x 150 mm).
- Not recommended for impervious porcelain tile over 2" x 2"
(50 mm x 50 mm) size.
- Natural marble and stone may be sensitive to discoloration. Conduct test area to insure compatibility.
- DO NOT bond to particle board, luan, Masonite® or hardwood surfaces.
- Not recommended for use below 45°F (7°C).
- When temperatures are below 60°F (15°C). Allow additional
24–48 hours or until tiles are set firm to begin grouting.
- Do not use a notched trowel larger than 1/4" x 1/4"
(6 mm x 6 mm)
- Adhesives/mastics, mortars and grouts for ceramic tile,
pavers, brick and stone are not replacements for waterproofing membranes. When a waterproofing membrane is required, use LATICRETE® 9235 Waterproofing Membrane (see Section 10 FILING SYSTEMS). Consult MSDS for more information.
- Note: Surfaces must be structurally sound, stable and rigid enough to support ceramic/stone tile, thin brick and similar finishes. Substrate deflection under all live, dead and impact loads, including concentrated loads, must not exceed L/360 for thin bed ceramic tile/brick installations or L/480 for thin bed stone installations where L=span length.
- Not recommended for any glass tile.
- During cold weather, protect finished work from traffic until fully cured.
- Protect floor installations from traffic for at least 24 hours. Low temperatures <68°F (<20°C) will require longer protection.
- Do not take internally.
- Contains Ethylene Glycol and Mineral Spirits.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- See container label for precautionary measures for use,
handling, and storage before use.

Specifications subject to change without notification. Results shown are typical but reflect test procedures used. Actual field performance will depend on installation methods and site conditions.
All surfaces should be between 45°F (7°C) and 90°F (32°C) and structurally sound, clean and free of all dirt, oil, grease, loose peeling paint, concrete sealers or curing compounds. Rough or uneven concrete surfaces should be made smooth with LATICRETE Latex Portland Cement Underlayment to provide a wood float finish or better. Do not level with gypsum or asphalt based products. Dry, dusty concrete slabs or masonry should be cleaned, dampened and excess water swept off and allowed to dry. Installation must not be made on a damp surface. New concrete slabs shall be damp cured and 28 days old before application. All slabs must be plumb and true to within 1/4" (6 mm) in 10 ft (3 m).
- Installer must verify that deflection under all live, dead and impact loads of interior plywood floors does not exceed
industry standards of L/360 for ceramic tile and brick or L/480 for stone installations where L=span length.
- Minimum construction for interior plywood floors:
SUBFLOOR: 5/8" (15 mm) thick exterior glue plywood, either plain with all sheet edges blocked or tongue and groove, over bridged joints spaced 16" (400 mm) o.c. maximum; fasten plywood 6" (150 mm) o.c. along sheet ends and 8" (200 mm) o.c. along intermediate supports with 8d ring-shank, coated or hot dip galvanized nails (or screws); allow 1/8" (3 mm) between sheet ends and 1/4" (6 mm) between sheets edges; all sheet ends must be supported by a framing member; glue sheets to joints with construction adhesive.
UNDERLAYMENT: 5/8" (15 mm) thick exterior glue plywood fastened 6" (150 mm) o.c. along sheet ends and 8" (200 mm) o.c. in the panel field (both directions) with 8d ring-shank, coated or hot dip galvanized nails (or screws); allow 1/8"
(3 mm) to 1/4" (6 mm) between sheets and 1/4" (6 mm) between sheet edges and any abutting surfaces; offset underlayment joints from joints in subfloor and stagger joints between sheet ends; glue underlayment to subfloor with construction
adhesive. Refer to Technical Data Sheet 152 "Bonding Ceramic Tile, Stone or Brick Over Wood Floorsâ for complete details.
Clean substrate using a damp sponge or towel. Apply
adhesive to substrate with flat side of trowel and work into substrate. Then comb the adhesive with the notched side of the trowel, removing excess material. Spread only as much as can be tiled while adhesive is wet and tacky, approximately 30–40 minutes. Press, do not slide, tile into the adhesive and align. Beat or twist all tile until fully bedded. Check work regularly for full
contact between tile back and adhesive.
Note: Do not set tile in adhesive that has developed a skin. Scrape surface clean and spread fresh material.
Clean fresh adhesive with water and soap. Dried adhesive may be removed with steel wool. Dried adhesive on tools may be cleaned with mineral spirits.
Caution: Avoid open flames, have adequate ventilation when using mineral spirits. Follow manufacturer's safety warnings.
Grout installation after a minimum of 24 hours curing time at 70°F (21°C). Grout with LATICRETE 1500 Sanded Grout or LATICRETE 1600 Unsanded Grout mixed with LATICRETE 1776 Grout Enhancer. For maximum stain resistance use LATICRETE SpectraLOCK™ PRO Grout.
Keep the container closed when not using. Store in warm area 70°F (21°C) for 12 hours before using.
