DEFENDER LAMINATED GLASS
Laminated solutions from AGC combine an attractive appearance with exceptional strength and protection — perfect for applications where safety, security, hurricane resistance or sound control is a concern. Our Defender^™ laminated products consist of two glass lites bonded around a layer of polyvinyl butyral (PVB), resulting in a “sandwich” that is visually indistinguishable from monolithic glass of the same thickness. While laminated glass can be broken by extreme force, the glass fragments remain bonded to the PVB interlayer. The benefits of our Defender laminated products include:

• Solar and thermal performance. Defender laminated solutions include coated products that can be combined into insulating glass units (IGUs) to achieve superior thermal performance.
• UV light control. Defender laminated products work by blocking 99.9% of UV light.
• Safety and security. Defender laminated products are effective in protecting occupants from flying debris from such disasters as hurricanes and can provide protection against theft or other life-threatening events.
• Sound. Defender laminated glasses are effective in absorbing specific frequencies of sound, improving sound transmission class (STC) rating.
• Appearance. Defender laminated glass is available in a wide variety of compositions that include colored glasses (Clear, Green, Dark Green, Grey, Bronze, Blue and Azure); reflective coatings (Stopsol^® Classic, Supersilver and Silverlight); and Low-E coatings (Comfort Ti^™ and Sunergy^®).
