Liftslide

The Liftslide is designed to accommodate oversized openings, creating expansive moving glass walls with unusually large panels. The European designed hardware easily handles these larger panels, which glide as if floating on air. By rotating the handle downward, the wheels are engaged and the door panel is lifted, sliding effortlessly along the flush track. To close the door, the panel is lowered and the weight of the closed panels rest on two parallel gaskets insuring a better weather seal than conventional sliding doors. When closed at the jamb, the liftslide gear secures the panel to the jamb with the multi-point locking system for exceptional security.

Weiland offers a variety of lift slide configurations, including straight, corner and curved sliding doors. Our patented clip together top and side jamb design gives our customers the opportunity to choose an endless combination of multi-panel configurations. The Weiland corner liftslide can accommodate any angle, ranging from 90 to 135 degrees, with no corner post. Our corner doors have been used to accent a variety of architectural styles and homes. The Weiland curved (or radius) liftslide has curved glass panels and slides along a curved track. One spectacular 'S' curve system filled a 60 foot wide opening. All of our lift slides can be built to pocket into a wall.

One of the distinguishing features of a Weiland lift slide is the flush bottom track, which projects above the finish floor by only 3/16" creating a beautiful, almost seamless transition from inside to outside. Our flush track is extruded from corrosion resistant aluminum used in marine climates. It is the best choice to withstand the tough salt-water environments along oceanfronts. A patented built-in drainage system is an option and enhances the door system's weather resistance.

Removable handles are standard on pocketing systems and allow greater flexibility in design, narrower pockets, and evenly stacked doors in the wall pockets or in their stacked position against the side jamb. Several handle choices are available.

Glass up to 1-1/2" thick can be built into the system if necessary and can be ordered to match most other glass. The option for no glass is also available if the client chooses to use a unique glass or would like to have the glazing done on-site.

For our aluminum doors, the exterior finish is Kynar. Kynar's time-tested formulation is acknowledged as the best available finish for color retention and weather resistance due to the high percentage of resin used. Weiland will match the clad colors of any window manufacturer. Custom color matching is also available.

We choose the highest quality wood available such as mahogany, Doug fir, and alder. For special projects, the customer has the option of any wood on the market to match custom cabinetry or other design criteria. The Weiland liftslide can be ordered in all wood, all aluminum or aluminum with a wood interior cladding. The all wood sash is built with a 2-5/8" thick profile. The all aluminum sash is built with a 3-3/16" thick profile. The aluminum sash with wood cladding is composed of a 1/2" wood cladding attached to a 2-11/16" aluminum profile by a PVC clip, a patented fastening system that connects them structurally while separating them physically and thermally. This produces beautiful, low maintenance doors. This design choice gives the homeowner superior exterior protection coupled with the warmth of wood on the interior of the home. Both aluminum designs are structurally more stable for larger panel sizes, up to 16' tall.

We have hurricane and impact liftslides available. Durability and advanced design have enabled the Weiland liftslide to withstand rigorous hurricane and impact testing standards for pocketing liftslides up to 10-1/2' tall. Exclusive design features, like the patented flush track, the pocket interlocks and the gasketing system were integral in meeting high AAMA performance requirements.
