The Weiland standard bifold door is an exterior folding door that functions as a moving glass wall folding either inward or outward. Designed with European hardware, the door provides a high level of functionality coupled with a sophisticated look and feel that addresses the quality and aesthetic demands of custom architectural projects. Swinging doors can be built into most units for more exit options. The number of panels can be varied to suit the opening size and the desired configuration. Smaller size specifications can also be used as windows for kitchens or bar areas. Bifold doors are available that meet at corners with no corner posts, creating a unique unobstructed opening to the outside.

Custom threshold options include flush tracks and drainage systems. The standard bottom track for exterior applications is a U-shaped stainless steel track extending 1/4" above the finish floor. A sloped stainless steel threshold also with drainage is available for the Weiland bifold, extending two inches above the finished floor. A third track option used in interior applications is a 'U' channel that sits flush with the finished floor. Side jambs and head tracks can be buried in most applications for a cleaner, more custom look.

The standard Weiland bifold can be ordered in all wood, all aluminum or aluminum with a wood interior cladding. The all wood sash is built with a 2-5/8" thick profile and 3-5/8" face width. The all aluminum sash is built with a 2-1/2" thick profile. The aluminum sash with wood cladding is 1-9/16" thick and composed of a wood cladding attached to an aluminum profile by a PVC clip, a patented fastening system that connects the parts structurally while separating them physically and thermally. This technology produces beautiful, low maintenance doors.

Aluminum products are painted with a heat treated Kynar finish. Kynar's time-tested formulation is acknowledged as the best available finish for color retention and weather resistance due to the high percentage of resin used. Weiland will match the clad colors of any window manufacturer. Custom color matching is also available.

Only the highest quality woods on the market are used, such as mahogany, Doug fir, and alder. For special projects, the customer can choose any available wood species to match custom cabinetry or other design criteria.
