Always prepare a test area prior to full application. This will indicate the time required for project completion and suitability of product for the paint and the substrate.
Ensure that all areas not to be cleaned are suitably protected. Apply a small test application to determine proper dwell times, effect if any, on underlying paint/substrate, final removal and clean up methods. The product should not be diluted. Drill mix thoroughly. Do not pre-wash the surface to be cleaned before application of S-307 Graffiti Remover.
Apply a generous amount of S-307 by spray, brush, roller or a rag to fully saturate the problem substance to be removed. A brush or roller can be utilized for application over small areas. Larger areas will require a small hand pump, weed sprayer or conventional spray equipment capable of producing a fine atomized spray. Minimum wet film thickness should be 15 mils (300 microns).
The time required to remove or soften graffiti, depends on the type of paints, number of layers of paint and temperature of the substrate. Most graffiti will soften within ten minutes. Do not let any application stay on for more than fifteen minutes. Depending on underlying paint type, some paints may be softened or de-glossed. If the job has not been completed, wipe off the softened graffiti / over- spray with a cotton cloth and reapply the S-307.
Removal and Cleanup
For small areas; removal of residue can be completed by wiping with a dry cotton cloth, followed by a warm or soapy water rinse. For larger surfaces, removal can be accomplished by pressure washing at approximately 600 psi with fresh water. For rough surfaces, a nylon bristle brush may be required to break up graffiti. Greater pressure from the pressure washer (1000-1200 psi) may also be required.
Proper safety procedures should be followed at all times while handling this product. Refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet for important health/safety information before use.
Ambient and surface temperatures should be 65° to 95°F (20° to 32°C). The product performs effectively at lower temperatures (even at 32°F, O°C), but the dwell time increases.
Packaging and Coverage
S-307 Graffiti Remover is available in 5 gallon pails. The product is engineered for thick film build up on vertical and overhead surfaces. The desirable wet film thickness of stripper is approximately one and a half times the dry film thickness of the paint. Minimum wet film thickness should be 15 mils (300 microns). Coverage is approximately 40 to 90 sq. ft./ US gallon (1 to 2.2 sq. m/L)
THE ABOVE PROCEDURES ARE SIMPLY GUIDELINES FOR TESTING, APPLICATION, RINSING AND CLEANUP. BEFORE TESTING OR USING MASONRE S-307 CHECK WITH LOCAL, STATE, AND FEDERAL REGULATIONS TO ENSURE THE PRODUCT IS BEING USED PROPERLY AND THERE ARE NO VIOLATIONS OF THE LAW.
