The Emergency Egress Door (EED)
The Emergency Egress Door (EED) is a manual swing door which swings open into the platform to provide emergency egress from the train in the event that a train fails to properly align with the PSD. Each EED has 2-point positive latching which is monitored for safety interlocking with the ATC. The EED will automatically return to the closed & latched position after opening by virtue of a concealed hydraulic closer.
Emergency Egress Doors are panic device equipped, self closing, fully monitored doors that allow safe exit during emergency. Platform side key-lock access for authorized personnel. 2-Point latching system which is monitored for positive “Closed and Locked” status. Recessed EED Release Handle design eliminates center mullion, enabling a full glass panel and maximizes CDO.
