Product Presentation Techo Tile with its deep S configuration is a simulated Spanish tile. Techo Tile combines the appearance of clay tiles with the all the features and advantages of a metal roof system. Additionally, since metal panels do not crack and they resist mildew and fungus, the maintenance costs common to clay tiles are virtually eliminated. Techo Tile is ideal for re-roofing projects or new construction. It costs a fraction of clay tile and weighs only 1.4 lbs/ft² compared to 9 lbs/ft². This translates into direct savings for the homeowner. Material costs are reduced because the framing system can be designed to take advantage of the lightweight yet structural panel system. Labor costs are reduced due to the ease of installation, and because in a re-roof application, the tear off and disposal of existing roof materials can often be eliminated. Techo Tile resists wind, rain, snow and ice. The panels are fire resistant and have a Class A or B rating depending on the substrate. Sizes and Profiles: Techo Tile panels (SCT400) are in the form of an S or Spanish style tile. Panels are 42 wide, including a 2-5/8 side lap, and 2-7/8 deep. The length of the tile is 14 and the width of the scallop is an 8 repeat. The step on the tile is 0.56. Panel lengths are cut to customer specifications and can range from 18-1/2 minimum to any transportable length. Composition and Materials: Panels are roll-formed from .032 Aluminum or 24 gauge Metallic Coated Steel (embossed only). Twenty-six gauge steel (select colors only). Color and Finish: A choice of 30 colors is available in the Kynar 500® or Hylar 5000® based finish. (Request color chart or chips). Techo Tile may be specified with a traditional (matte) finish or a glazed (smooth) finish. Specifications Note to specifiers: Techo Tile serves the structural and architectural needs of roofing, fascia and mansard systems. Warranty The Kynar 500® or Hylar 5000® based paint finish carries a twenty (20) year limited warranty against chipping, cracking, peeling, chalking and fading. Availability and Cost Techo Tile panels are available through ATAS product distributors. A complete line of accessories in matching or coordinating colors is available to complete a project. Valleys, Ridge Caps, Gable and Eave trims are formed to customer specifications. Coil stock or flat sheet can be provided for field fabrication of custom flashings. Cost:
Installation Techo Tile panels are installed vertically up the slope of the roof. The panel is installed with metal fasteners long enough to penetrate solid substrate or trusses. Minimum recommended slope is 3 in 12. Installation manuals or hands-on training through seminars are available. Contact ATAS technical service advisors for information. Maintenance Techo Tile panels are virtually maintenance free. The high quality finish will not fade, chalk, crack or peel, and since the substrate is metal, it will not warp, rot or break. Surface residue may be easily removed by conventional cleaning methods. Minor scratches may be touched up with a matching paint, available from the manufacturer. Technical Services Complete technical information and literature is available from ATAS International, Inc. ATAS will assist with design ideas and estimates and offers shop-drawing services.
