Impact Products
High Design Pressure Windows and doors

TRACO Impact Resistant Window and Door Systems bring an expertise and understanding of the unique needs of coastal area markets with the right products, the right technology, and the right approach. Specifically designed to meet strict building codes and the toughest coastal weather challenges, TRACO Impact products are tested to withstand the most severe hurricane force wind loads. TRACO's unique window and door systems have helped to earn TRACO a reputation as an industry leader on a global scale with service from Texas to Maine, the Caribbean, Central and South America and the Pacific Rim Islands.

HURRICANE-LEVEL PROTECTION

Built to withstand hurricane force wind loads of 200 m.p.h. and greater, these windows and doors can take on the toughest coastal weather challenges.
Our systems have passed extensive testing for wind and debris performance, including the Dade County missile impact protocols. All are compliant with the wind-born debris standards that are part of the International Building Code (IBC) for coastal construction.

These shutterless systems will enhance and protect your property, allowing maintenance personnel and building occupants to simply lock the windows and doors and spend that extra time traveling to a safe location.

NOISE PROTECTION

Windows and doors are key entry points for sound penetration into a building. Our thermal impact-resistant window and door systems keep outside noises outside, offering a quiet and peaceful interior environment for sound-sensitive buildings like condominiums, hotels, and office space. TRACO Hurrcules™ systems combine an air space between the layers of glass and an acoustical film designed specifically to block noise transmission for a dual level of sound protection.

ALUMINUM ADVANTAGE

Aluminum is the standard bearer of window materials, and coastal conditions only emphasize the need for its use as a framing material. This lightweight yet extremely strong metal is used on jumbo jets and stands up to the humid, corrosive coastal air by never warping, rotting or corroding. When combined with a thermal break, aluminum becomes an extremely energy efficient material as well. All of our Hurrcules™ thermal impact-resistant window and door systems use aluminum framing. Other benefits to this material include a low rate of thermal expansion and contraction, ability to accommodate glazing up to one inch thick, and a variety of finishes that require minimal maintenance.

In addition, aluminum is a 100% recyclable, non-toxic and fully sustainable product. It also never burns and has a high strength-to-weight ratio.

LONG-LASTING COASTS

With TRACO, you don’t have to sacrifice aesthetics for performance. Our systems use paints and coatings that can meet any color palette challenge while still delivering a corrosion-resistant finish that stands up
to years of coastal abuse. Our high-performance finishes resist ultra-violet degradation and provide stringent color control for a uniform look from window to window, door to door. They also feature impact and mar resistance, especially important for flying hurricane debris. With TRACO windows and doors, you’ll get out of the corrosive pits and into smooth, vibrant colors that are long-lasting and maintenance free.

ENERGY EFFICIENT

Using a combination of insulating glass and thermal break, Hurrcules™ windows and doors don’t sacrifice energy efficiency for hurricane protection.

Think of the TRACO thermal break as insulation inside the window frame and sash. We pour a superior insulating material- polyurethane-into a special channel in the aluminum extrusion.

It then hardens into a dense, rigid thermal break, stripping away the last remaining metal connection bridging the inside and outside. The result–heat loss virtually stops cold.

We also take extra steps to make our glass last longer and insulate better. Instead of an ordinary spacer and single seal in the glass, we use double seals – polyisobutylene to guard against moisture, and polisulfide or silicone to protect the hermetically-sealed assembly against degradation. We also include a chemical desiccant in two sides of the spacer to dry up any moisture between the sealed panes. Little wonder our insulating glass is rated at “CBA” and certified by the Insulating Glass Certification Council.
