Repair/Restoration Anchors may be required because of:
- Buckling or cracking of facade due to building movements (i.e. inter-story drift, thermal movements).
- Failure of materials.
- Absence of ties.
- Corrosion of non-stainless steel ties.
- Refacing of existing structure with new veneer.
H & B carries a complete line of Repair/Restoration Anchors for masonry and stone veneers. Anchors also available for conditions where installation from the interior is preferred.
- Epoxied rod/screen tube. Chemically resecures veneer to concrete or masonry backup. Drill hole and blow clean. Mixing nozzle dispenses epoxy into screen tube. Insert tube into hole, when rod is inserted into tube, epoxy is displaced through screen into cavity and block cell. When cured, epoxy forms a positive anchor connection.
- Available in 1/4 in. – 3/4 in. diameters.
- Rod and screen tube furnished in type 304 stainless steel. Screen tube also available in nylon upon request.
- Epoxied rod/screen tube. Same as above, but can also be used to chemically secure steel members to concrete or masonry backup (i.e. stone anchors, sill plates, brackets, angle irons, etc.).
- Same availability as above.
- Nuts and washers type 304 stainless steel.
- Expansion type. Mechanically resecures veneer to concrete or masonry backup. Supplied with preinstalled O-ring to function as moisture drip. Drill hole through veneer into backup as required. With special tool, expand inner shield, then outer shield. Fill hole with mortar.
- 521RA – S — All type 304 stainless steel. Fits 3/8 in. diameter hole. Available 7 in., 8 in. and 9 in. long.
- 521RA – B — Type 304 stainless steel rod with brass expansion shields. Fits 1/2 in. diameter hole. Available 7 in., 8 in. and 9 in. long.
- Expansion/screw type. Mechanically resecures veneer to wood backup. Supplied with pre-installed O-ring to function as moisture drip. Drill hole through veneer. With special tool, install threaded portion of anchor into wood stud, then expand outer shield into veneer. Fill hole with mortar.
- Type 304 stainless steel.
- Fits 1/2 in. diameter hole in brick. Available 7 in. long.
