Nosings are available in aluminum, bronze, nickel bronze and iron (please
see table on this screen for the recommended safe minimum thickness for
each material). Nosing width is variable, although 3 - 4 inches is typical.
Plain or cross-hatched surfaces are available. The nosing systems offer
two anchorage options: an integral cast anchor or a standard loose steel
anchor. Countersunk holes are also available. There are three nosing styles:
1. Style AX - for concrete
2. Style AXPF - for panfilled treads
3. Barrier Free Type Nosing - Meets all specifications of ADA
These heavy duty nosings are intended for use at the edge of loading
docks or other areas where strength and durability are required. They can
also be used as stair nosing. The nosings are available in aluminum, bronze,
nickel bronze and iron and in plain or cross-hatched surfaces. The size
generally does not exceed 4-1/2 feet.
In the wearing surface of every Safe-T-Metal casting, the abrasive grains
of tough, electric-furnace Corundum are embedded uniformly at the time
of casting. These grains, by chilling the molten metal, increase the wearing
qualities of the metal itself. Thus, Safe-T-Metal castings combine these
attributes: permanent roughness of the anti-slip surface...extreme durability
of both the grain and the metal...increased resistance to corrosion and
the elements.
