Storm Shelter Doors from Protective Structures

When designing a storm shelter for protection against storm threats, such as tornadoes and hurricanes, the most critical component of the shelter is the door. FEMA 320 and FEMA 361 Rated Storm Shelter Doors are our specialty at Protective Structures. Protective Structures, Ltd. (PSL) carries a full line of FEMA 320 / 361 rated storm shelter doors both for home and commercial applications.

FEMA Rated Storm Doors

Every storm shelter door from PSL has been designed and tested to the highest standards. Our shelter doors meet or exceed all FEMA 320 and FEMA 361 requirements for storm shelter doors. Do not be fooled by door makers selling "tornado doors" that do not meet these standards. PSL has tested some of these so called "tornado doors" and the results speak for themselves (see video footage of our testing by visiting www.shelterdoors.com/video.htm). A non-FEMA rated door simply cannot withstand the destructive forces generated by tornadoes, hurricanes and other violent storms.

A variety of storm shelter doors are available from Protective Structures, Ltd. (PSL). PSL carries a full line of doors that meet FEMA 320 and FEMA 361 guidelines for storm shelter doors. Typically, a FEMA 361 rated storm shelter door is intended for "community shelters" or for commercial applications. FEMA 320 rated storm shelter doors are intended for in-home or residential storm shelters.

PSL is proud to feature the StormPro® 361 steel door (pictured to the left) as well as the FEMA 320 rated StormGuard320 door (not pictured here).

These doors come with attractive wood finishes and add a beautiful touch to an in- home storm shelter, where cosmetics are of concern. These FEMA 320 rated doors are available in both in swing and out swing configurations. We also carry the StormPro® 320 steel tornado door.
