Kommerling® offers a variety of products that make KOMA®
Trimboards even easier and more convenient to use. Our KOMA®
Edge and Center Bead and KOMA® CornerTrim are perfect complements. KOMA®
Bond&Fill™ can be used to bond KOMA Trimboards and fill gaps and other
voids.
KOMA® Edge & Center Bead provides a modern PVC solution designed
to match historical edge and center bead patterns. This versatile, durable product
is available in 0.5” x 5.5” x 18' and 0.5” x 3.5” x
18' lengths. Koma offers many important features and benefits:
- Look and feel of wood with the durability of PVC
- Manufactured to ensure a quality product that looks like painted wood edge
and center bead boards
- No moisture absorption, warping, cupping or crooking
- Rich wood-like textured surface with warm matte finish
- Can be cut and nailed using standard woodworking tool
- Color-matched with KOMA® Bond&Fill™ for filling nail holes
- No need to paint, but if painting is desired, no scuffing, sanding or priming
required
Perfect for porch ceilings and soffit applications, KOMA Edge & Center Bead
has the same outstanding properties as other KOMA Trimboards. It is fabricated
for tongue-in-groove installation.
KOMA Edge and Center Bead and KOMA CornerTrim have the same quality and the
same outstanding properties as other KOMA Trimboards.
Koma Edge may be edge nailed diagonally through the tongue just like real wood.
Flat surface nailing without predrilling is an acceptable nailing method.
No special tools are needed. KOMA Edge and Center Bead and KOMA CornerTrim are
easier than wood to work with standard tools.
If painting is desirable, use standard house paint. All you have to do is clean
the surface and paint.
KOMA Bond&Fill is specially formulated for PVC. However, it bonds KOMA products
to other materials and works equally well with most metals, ABS and wood.
All KOMA products carry Kommerling’s strong warranty for your protection.
You may download KOMA Installation Guidelines from literature section at www.komatrimboards.com.
If KOMA Trimboards get dirty, they should be cleaned after installation. We
recommend Clorox Cleanup or Soft Scrub. 100 grit sandpaper can also be used
on stubborn grains.
Any rust-proof woodworking fastener will work with KOMA products. We recommend
stainless steel or hot-dipped galvanized fasteners. KOMA products do not require
pre-drilling unless a large fastener is use or the product is installed in low
temperatures. KOMA Trimboards work well with nail guns, using rust-proof nails.
Finishing nails are recommended. You should avoid fine-threaded wood screws
and ring-shank fasteners. Holes may be filled with KOMA® Bond&Fill™.
KOMA Bond&Fill also should be used to adhere KOMA Trimboards to each other.
