KEMIKO Stone Tone Wax II

Description

Especially formulated for concrete to produce a low sheen finish with high protection and durability. Designed for interior use over Kemiko Stone Tone Stain, pigment colored concrete, tile or any masonry surface.

Applications

Since machine buffing is difficult near walls and corners, spread a smooth light coating of wax out from the walls (2-3 inches) and in the corners to allow for buffing radius of the floor machine. Put no more than approximately 1/4-1/8 cup of wax on the floor in the center of the first 4-5 foot square. It will appear wet and dull. Immediately work the wax by spreading and burning it in with a natural stiff bristle attachment (Bassine brush).

CAUTION: It is critical to have separate brushes for both sealed and unsealed acid stained floors. Unsealed acid stained floors will transmit color to brushes.

This burnishing may take 4-5 minutes. Move to the next 4-5 foot quadrant and repeat the step only after the wax in the preceding area has turned to a light glare and the wax ridges have disappeared. Mineral spirits will soften any ridges or excess wax allowing it to be spread and worked in.

When you have completed the application phase, change to a medium bristle brush attachment (Tampico or Palmyra) and buff the entire floor. After buffing, if greater protection is desired, repeat the first phase applying a thin second coat. Then rebuff. If a slightly higher sheen is desired, buff with a soft pad.

Coverage: 350-450 square feet.

Clean-up:

Clean tools and equipment with clean water.

Maintenance:

To maintain a Kemiko Stained and Waxed floor we recommend damp mopping with water only. If you choose to sanitize the floor use a mild soap solution such as Spic-N-Span. Avoid using strong detergents. The stronger the detergent the quicker it will wear away the wax. Based on the traffic, waxed floors may need to be re-waxed every 1 to 2 years. On high traffic floors re-waxing may need to be done more frequently. Note: stripping old wax is usually not necessary.
