![]() ![]() All Star Bleachers design custom I-Beam Grandstands that deliver long life, low maintenance and a great visitor experience. Columns are typically placed 18 feet apart but design options can accommodate concessions, restrooms and other storage facilities under the stadium. I-Beam structures are fabricated from wide flange steel shapes, hot-dipped galvanized after fabrication, and are anchored to concrete foundations. These structures offer the most design flexibility. The design could be adapted to accommodate site. Elevated I-Beam Grandstands are raised off of the ground allowing for crosswalks, vomitories, and ADA ramps. Elevated I-Beam Grandstands offer a better, elevated view. ![]() Front walkways are typically elevated in 6" increments beginning at 30" up to 60". Center walkways are typically required for grandstands that are 21 rows or higher (Source: ICC 300-2007). Vomitories are a common element used to meet egress requirements. Ramps/ADA Requirements/Companion SeatingRamps are required for ADA compliance on elevated grandstands and bleachers. Ramp configurations are typically referred to by a letter shape; L ramp, S ramp, U ramp, and straight ramp. The maximum slope for ramps is 1" on 12" and must have a level surface after 30' of slope, some ramps are 1" on 20", and do not require a level landing. Companion seats are required for every one wheelchair space provided (Source: ICC 300-2007). ![]() Options for seating include standard 10" and 12" aluminum seat board. Contoured aluminum seat board and backrest are also options. All Star Bleachers' Champion™ line of stadium seating can provide a premium seating option. Seat height is typically at a 17" height above the foot deck. A clearance of 12" minimum spacing is required in between the edge of one row to the next. ![]() Picket guardrail and chain link fence are common options for enclosing bleachers and grandstands with heights that exceed 30". Any opening between components (footboards, seat boards, risers, or guardrails) above a 30" height should prevent passage of a 4-inch sphere to grade (Source: ICC 300-2007). Guardrail or fence heights should be at 42" above seats. Finish options for picket rail include mill finish and powder coating. Galvanized and vinyl chain link fence are also available. Aluminum and poly closure panels are often used to provide a finished, clean look to the base of bleachers and grandstands. ![]() Dimensions and design options vary depending on the project and facility requirements. The most common lengths for press boxes are 18', 24', 30, and 36' with larger sizes available if needed. The depth of press boxes are typically 8' or 10' deep. Design options include standard or slanted windows, filming platforms, and inclined platform wheelchair lifts. Press boxes are required to be designed to meet local wind loads and ADA access to a press box may be required per local codes. ![]() Integrated Building Modules take advantage of space that would otherwise go unused under the grandstand and are a perfect solution for tight sites and budgets. The modules are designed to fit our standard 18 foot bay spacing and can be interconnected for larger installations. Concession, Storage, Restroom, and Locker Room Modules are the most popular options.
