END DAMS & PRE-FORMED FLASHING CORNERS
A structure is vulnerable to harsh environmental conditions if it is
not protected in the early stages of construction. The theory of an ounce
of prevention being worth a pound of cure, holds true in the construction
industry today. Installing a proper drainage system in cavity wall construction,
is critical for a buildings continued existence. The cavity wall must possess
effective flashing, end dams, corners and a good weeping system to allow
moisture to dissipate correctly. By initially installing a proper drainage
system, potential structural problems are prevented in the future. For
years, Sandell® has provided a complete line of thru-wall flashings
and masonry accessories that promote proper drainage in a structure. Today,
Sandell® is offering pre-formed end dams and corners to further enhance
and complement our current drainage system.
Sandell®s End Dams
Sandell®'s End Dams are simple to implement and should be used
in conjunction with Sandell®'s Thru-Wall Flashing and accessories.
The
product is installed in a stair step fashion to collect and direct moisture
to the exterior of a structure. Ideally, Sandell®'s End Dams
should be placed 6 to 8 beyond the jamb lines above and below wall openings.
Upon proper installation, and in union with Sandell®'s Thru-Wall Flashing
and masonry accessories. Sandell®'s End Dams preserve the structures
integrity, while safely protecting it for a lifetime. Sandell®'s Pre-Formed
End Dams are available in: Stainless Steel -26g, 28g; Copper -10oz, 12oz,
16oz, and 20oz, or Self Adhering Rubberized Asphalt.
Sandell®'s Pre-Formed Flashing Corners
Sandell®'s Pre-Formed Flashing Corners are used to secure structural
integrity by creating a moisture barrier that upholds a watertight environment.
By effectively redirecting the moisture and blocking the various elements,
Sandell®'s Pre-Formed Corners form a shield of defense against all
of the common offenders that have the tendency to weaken and eventually
break down a structures composition. Conventional methods used to flash
corners required cutting, patching, folding and overlapping of the material
to make it fit properly. This technique basically redesigned the flashing
so it would accommodate the corner to the best of its ability and basically
get the job done. However, by lapping, seaming, cutting and initiating
any changes to the flashing, the material lost its element defying characteristics.
Pooling and seepage occurred that further complicated the application.
Today, Sandell®'s Pre-Formed Flashing Corners are seamless, durable
and best of all simple to use. They are pre-formed, which means no cutting,
bending or forming on the jobsite. This priceless feature, along with the
products many other amenities, adds to the value that this product has
to offer to the consumer. The ease of use and expedient installation process
delivers a cost effective system with substantial savings.
Sandell®'s Pre-Formed Corners are available in Stainless Steel -
26g, 28g; Copper -10oz, 12oz, 16oz, and 20oz, or Self Adhering Rubberized
Asphalt.
Sandell®s Dry90
Sandell®s Dry90 is composed of a poly-vinylchloride material that
can be made in 20 mil or 30 mil thickness. The secret is in the patented
accordion pleat design that makes this product so remarkable in its flexibility
and adaptation to any degree angle, curve or bend. Seamless corners make
this product superior to all other cornerapplications. With this one-step
process there is no longer a need to splice flashing pieces together or
lap and seam the cut corners with additional pieces of flashing.
