Ray-Bar X-Ray Glass and Telescopic Control View Windows

Ray-Bar Lead Lined Telescopic Steel View Windows

Fabricated with 16 gauge Jetcoat or Paintlock electro – Galvanized Steel, with 1.58mm (1/16") standard lead lining. These windows are manufactured for ease of installation in "hole-in-wall" rough openings after wallboard is installed, or even into existing shielded walls as a retrofit cutout installation application.

Available with RAY-BAR X-RAY PROTECTIVE LEAD GLASS, standard 2.0 mm lead equivalency single layer.

Higher lead equivalencies available upon request and CLEAR Pb LEAD ACRYLIC by Victoreen in 0.3mm, 0.5 mm, 0.8 mm, 1.0 mm, 1.5 mm and 2.0 mm lead equivalencies.

Material

RAY-BAR Lead Lined Telescopic View Window Frames are fabricated from l6ga. grey "JETCOAT" or "PAINTLOCK" Electo-Galvanized Steel (EGS) for an excellent rust resistant, paint ready surface, with 1/16" (4#) leadlining standard*.
Also available fabricated in STAINLESS STEEL (304 in 2B finish or #4 grain brush finish) or ALUMINIUM (5052-H32) upon request.

Standard Ray-Bar X-Ray Lead Glass is 5/16" thick / 2.O mm (5#) lead equivalent.

Standard Ray-Bar frame telescopes to fit wall thickness from 4-1/4" TO 8" which slip side throat will easily adjust to fit a finished standard 3-5/8",4" or 6" stud wall with 5/8" drywall installed on both sides. Larger wall thicknesses available upon request.

Dimensions

Our standard Ray-Bar leadlined telescopic frames are ordered by actual glass size and fit into rough opening of 1" larger than glass size to allow 1/2" clearance around perimeter of the frame. The OUTSIDE dimensions of our standard frame are 3" LARGER than glass size on X-Ray side and 4-1/4" LARGER than glass size on Control Side.

EXAMPLE: A 12" × 12" telescopic frame will fit into a rough opening of 13 " × 13 " and will have an outside dimension of 15" on X-Ray side and 16-1/4" outside dimension on Control Side.

Dimensions may vary for telescopic view window frames with special options.

Installation

Separate two-piece modular telescopic view window frame and install Lead Lined/Lead Glass portion on X-Ray source side of rough opening. Install "Slip-Side" flange on control side of rough opening at same time and slide both pieces together tight to wall. Check to verify that frame is level and fasten with self-tapping pan head screws on flat flange portion to stop. Make sure you screw through both halves of frame, 6" on center. (4 places minimum.)
