SNO-GEM SNOW GUARDS:
ICE AGES AHEAD OF THE COMPETITION

Largest Base:
SNO-GEM snow guards provide a full 25 Square Inches of holding power - the largest base available anywhere! The size of the base determines the shear strength of a snow guard; the larger the base the greater the amount of shear strength.

Innovative Installation:
SNO-GEM snow guards offer a state-of-the-art application technique using 3M VHB Tape. With proper installation, immediate adhesion upon application is 50%. This method is fully cured in 72 hours, upon which you can expect up to 1,300 lbs. of Sheer Strength per unit (see Specifications for complete procedure). And when compared with other application methods, you can expect substantially reduced installation time and cost savings.

Sno-Gem also offers two additional application methods, on-site application of adhesive and use of mechanical fasteners.

Whichever method you choose, you'll benefit from SNO-GEM's proven design, appearance, and long life.

Standard & Custom Colors:
SNO-GEM has developed the ability to match all industry standard metal roof colors. SNO-GEM also offers an unlimited amount of custom colors to meet architectural requirements.

Two Appearance Options:
SNO-GEM snow guards offer two appearance options, creating a Horizontal and Diagonal look.

Horizontal: This installation creates a 5" barrier. The square sides parallel to the roof seam, centered on the panel creates a square appearance (See photo).

Diagonal: This installation creates a 7" barrier. The clean angular lines of the pyramid shape were engineered to reduce the number of snow guards required on a wider width panel. When rotated on its axis 45°, SNO-GEM creates a 40% wider base coverage. This installation provides a diamond shape appearance (See photo).

SNO-GEM Layout/Design Criteria:
Proper placement of the SNO-GEM will vary according to the following:

  • Geographical Location
  • Roof Pitch
  • Type & Width of Panel
  • Panel Length
All of these considerations will affect the layout of the snow guards.

For information regarding the proper placement of SNO-GEM snow guards on your roof, please contact the professionals at SNO-GEM, Inc. Each call will be given the special attention needed to help in providing you with an effective retention system.
