CableTrellis Cable & Rod Tellis Kits:  drawing from our vast experience with aluminum frames and stainless steel cable, rods and fittings, we've developed two simple and attractive vertical trellises for residential and commercial settings: the wall mounted Somerset^™ trellis and freestanding Greenway^™ trellis.

CableTrellis^™ trellises are sold in easy to use kits with powder coated aluminum support frames and sleek stainless steel cable and rod vine grids. They’re perfect for displaying light to medium weight foliage and offer simple, elegant design details with exceptional versatility and easy installation.

All of the aluminum frame and bracket components come with a durable, powder coated finish that meets AAMA 2604 paint specifications.  The cables and rods are manufactured from high quality, 316-grade stainless steel for weather-tough strength and durability.  Cross-clamps are available in either hard anodized aluminum or stainless steel and come with plastic end caps to cover the set-screw.  Stainless end caps are also available as an optional accessory item.

Uses and Applications:
CableTrellis^™ trellises can be utilitarian, decorative and even artistic. They can expand your garden space vertically and offer support for vines and vegetables. Wall mounted displays can turn an otherwise stark wall or fence into a colorful, textured backdrop while helping to minimize UV exposure and control ambient heat gain. Freestanding trellises with cascading greenery or fragrant flowers can make beautiful space-dividing screens, privacy barriers or sun shades. Trellises can even be used to frame a lovely view, direct foot traffic or create a cool, relaxing retreat or entertaining area. And at season’s end when the plants recede and the structure takes center stage, CableTrellis^™ trellises will continue to provide a simple, elegant accent to your personal landscapes. QuickConnect-SS^™ fittings with special one-way jaws automatically grab and lock on to the cable without any tools. Simply slide them on, pull the cable tight, trim the excess and finish with an end cap.

Cross-Clamps securely hold the rods in position using a locking set screw. Decorative end caps provide a final finished detail. Cross-Clamps are available in hard anodized aluminum (graphite color)or stainless steel.

Threaded Terminal fittings come pre-attached to one end of each cable. Spin on our unique Snug-Grip^™ Washer Nut to adjust cable tension; the special Snug-Grip^™ threads help prevent the nut from loosening. Finish with an end cap.

Frame Offsets: built-in, tubular offsets provide optimal clearance from the wall face. Mounting bolts (sold separately) insert through the offsets and into the wall. Retaining washers with black caps cover the bolt heads.

The rods can be positioned anywhere along the cables, but the spacing that we show and use in our standard package configurations is at one foot increments. Additional rods and clamps can be purchased as accessory items. Multiple trellis kits can be mounted adjacent to one another to make wider wall trellises.

Each Somerset Trellis kit includes the following items:

• 2 qty 40” long, aluminum angle brackets with powder coated finish.
• 4 qty 1/8” diameter stainless steel cable assemblies with adjustable attachment fittings and plastic end caps.
• 3 to 9 qty 1/8” diameter x 38-1/4” long stainless steel rods (quantity depends on trellis height).
• 4 qty cross-clamps per rod, with plastic caps (choose either hard anodized aluminum or stainless steel cross-clamps).
• 4 qty retaining washers and large plastic caps to cover bracket attachment bolt/screw heads (bolts & screws sold separately).
• 1 qty 3/16” hex key wrench (for cross-clamp set screws).

Frame Connections:  the tubular frame comes in 4 sections that are easily sleeved together and secured with locking screws. 

Base Plates:  as an option, trellises can be surface mounted using base plates (sold separately).

Each Greenway^™ Trellis kit includes the following items:

• 1 qty 1-1/2” diameter tubular aluminum frame with powder coated finish. Frame comes in 4 sections that slip together with splice sleeves and locking screws (included). Installed dimensions are 6’ high x 43” wide.
• 4 qty 1/8” diameter stainless steel cable assemblies (prefabricated to exact length) with attachment fittings and plastic end caps.
• 4 qty 1/8” diameter x 38-1/4” long stainless steel rods.
• 16 qty cross-clamps with plastic caps (choose either hard anodized aluminum or stainless steel cross-clamps)
• 1 qty 3/16” hex key wrench (for cross-clamp set screws).
• 1 qty square drive bit (for frame locking screws).

Assembly and Installation:
Note: never attach trellises to vinyl siding, stucco, Dryvit^® or other synthetic or natural construction material walls where the structural integrity is uncertain or where possible penetration of a moisture barrier membrane may create a potential for water leakage or damage or may violate and void any product warranties.  Be sure to carefully seal any wall penetrations with the proper sealant materials.  Consult a construction expert for advice on your specific conditions.

Installing your Somerset^™ Trellis

1. Mount the top and bottom support brackets to the wall.
2. Attach and tension the vertical cables to the support brackets (QuickConnet-SS^™ fittings on top and Threaded Terminals on bottom).
3. Attach the horizontal rods at the desired locations using cross-clamps.

Installing your Greenway^™ Trellis

1. Assemble the tubular frame using splice sleeves and screws.
2. Attach and tension the vertical cables to the frame (Fixed Button Head fitting on top and Threaded Terminal fitting on bottom).
3. Attach the horizontal rods at the desired locations using cross-clamps.  

If setting in legs in gravel or concrete:

4. Dig holes for legs.
5. Insert frame legs, check alignment and carefully fill with gravel or concrete.

Or, if base mounting using Base Plates:

6. Trim legs to desired length
7. Attach base plates to each trimmed leg.
8. Lift trellis into position and securely bolt or screw to surface.

Materials & Finishes:

• Support brackets and tubular frames are manufactured from high strength, 6000-series aluminum with a powder coated finish meeting AAMA 2604 specifications.
• Cables are made from 316-grade stainless steel with a commercial dry, polished finish.
• Cable fittings are machined from 316-grade stainless steel with a satin finish.
• Rods are made from 316-grade stainless steel with a satin finish.
• Cross-Clamps (two styles): hard anodized 6061-grade aluminum and 316-grade stainless steel, satin finish.
• Decorative Caps for Cross-Clamps (two styles):  colored polyethylene and 316-grade stainless steel, satin finish.
• Decorative Caps for attachment bolts & fittings:  colored polyethylene.

Warranty:
2-Year Warranty Feeney Inc (Feeney) warrants that all CableTrellis™ trellis kits (aluminum support frames and stainless steel cables, rods and connectors) shall be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use, conditions, installation and maintenance in accordance with product specifications for two (2) years from date of purchase. How to Order CableTrellis^™ Kits:

• Select Trellis Style: Select the Greenway^™ trellis for freestanding situations or the Somerset^™ trellis for wall-mounted applications.
• Select Cross-Clamp Type: Choose either hard anodized aluminum or stainless steel cross-clamps when choosing your trellis system.
• Determine Size (Somerset^™ Only): The Somerset^™ trellis offers seven height options. Our kits range from 4 ft to 10 ft; in 1 ft increments. Measure the area you would like covered vertically and order the nearest larger size package. You can trim cables to exact size in the field.
• Determine Quantities: Select the quantity of trellises needed. Multiple units can be combined to cover larger wall areas or expand a freestanding display.
• Choose Accessories & Tools: Start by determining which bolts or screws you'll need to attach your brackets or frames to the wall or deck/patio surface. And, remember, if you want to surface mount the Greenway^™ trellis you'll need to order one Base Plate Kit for each trellis. If you'd like different rod/cable spacing than we recommend, we sell rod & cross-clamp packages so you can add to your system.
