![]() POS-I-TIE® Brick Veneer Anchoring System The Pos-I-Tie® System is a two-piece anchor used to easily
attach brick veneer to Metal Studs, Concrete, CMU, Brick, or Steel Beams.
Unlike other systems the screw is a part of the systemno inferior screws
can be substituted. The barrel portion penetrates the gypsum board and
makes a Positive Lateral Connection with the backup for transfer of compression
and tension loads. A neoprene washer comes installed for preventing moisture
from entering the gypsum board.
Founded in 1923, Heckmann Building Products is celebrating its 70th
year of providing quality Masonry Anchors and Ties and Concrete Anchoring
Systems to the construction industry. The Management Team/Owners are the
third generation of the founder, Richard Heckmann Sr.
Three Types of Screws - Six Barrel Lengths - Four Types of Ties SELF DRILLING SCREW - For use with Brick Veneer To Steel Studs.
5/8" Barrels for 1/2" and 5/8" gypsum board.
Triangle shaped tie, Double-J tie, Seismic Tie, or Single Wire Tie available
in 3/16" diameter Mill Galvanized, Stainless Steel, and Hotdip Galvanized
After Fabrication.
The Pos-I-Tie® system is used to attach brick veneer
to backups of Steel Studs, Concrete, CMU, Brick, Wood, or Structural Steel.
Use a drill with a depth sensitive nose piece or a variable clutch adjustment.
The Pos-I-Tie® screw is placed into the reusable chuck adapter.
For steel studs drill Pos-I-Tie® through gypsum board into
the metal stud (this takes about 5 to 10 seconds per screw!). For structural
steel center punch prior to drilling. (High tensile steel or very thick
steel may require pre drilling a 3/16" pilot hole.) For concrete, CMU or
brick use the reusable con drive adapter with drill bit. Pre-drill a 3/16"
hole to a depth of 2" and slide the con drive sleeve over the drill bit
and insert the Tapcon Screw into the chuck adapter. Torque screw into the
predrilled hole.
Barrels: Zamac 2, a 92% Zinc Alloy.
