MEMBRANE ACCESSORIES
The following products are designed and fabricated by Duro-Last, Inc. for use
with the Duro-Last Roofing System. Contact the Engineering Department at Duro-Last,
Inc. for options not listed in this section.
INSIDE AND OUTSIDE FLASHING CORNERS
Pre-fabricated inside and outside corners shall be heat-welded to the field membrane
and/or parapet sections and shall be used in every instance of a corner on any
installation. Inside and outside corners shall be manufactured from the membrane
fabric and shall be furnished by Duro-Last, Inc. The use of outside corners is
required by Duro-Last, Inc.
CURB FLASHINGS
Custom-prefabricated curb flashings are required to flash all non-circular roof
penetrations. Curb flashings shall be individually ordered and manufactured to
fit each rooftop curb. Curb flashings shall be installed after the deck membrane
has been installed and mechanically attached twelve (12) inches on center along
the perimeter of the penetration. The flashing must extend a minimum of twelve
(12) inches in vertical height above the deck. The flashing may be terminated
with termination bar or extended onto the inside of the curb.
PARAPET WALL FLASHINGS
Prefabricated parapet wall flashings shall be the same material(s) as the deck
membrane; weft inserted polyester fabric coated on both sides with a plasticized
blend of PVC and acrylic resins. All changes in plane must be mechanically fastened,
parallel to the change, a minimum of twelve (12) inches on center. For example
a change of plane (horizontal to vertical) takes place at the intersection of
a deck/substrate and a parapet wall. A prefabricated parapet flashing or a reverse
tab is required to provide for the twelve (12) inch on center fastening pattern.
The minimum vertical height of a parapet wall flashing is eight (8) inches.
STACK FLASHINGS
Prefabricated stack flashings and bands shall be used for all circular roof penetrations.
The field membrane shall be attached around the base perimeter of the circular
penetration with mechanical fasteners spaced a maximum of twelve (12) inches on
center with a minimum of one fastener around each circular penetration. The minimum
vertical height of a stack flashing is eight (8) inches. Duro-Last caulk shall
be applied to the top portion of the circular penetration to where the prefabricated
stack flashing will be attached. A stainless steel band clamp, as furnished by
Duro-Last, Inc., shall be tightened around the top portion of the stack, excess
stack material above the clamp shall be trimmed away, and the area between the
stack and circular penetration sealed with Duro-Last caulk. The skirt of the prefabricated
stack flashing shall then be heat-welded to the Duro-Last roof membrane. Stack
flashings and bands shall be furnished by Duro-Last, Inc.
ROOF SCUPPER LINERS
Prefabricated roof scupper liners shall be premanufactured in such a way that
adequate material is allowed for field-welding to the Duro-Last roof membrane
and wall flashing. The liner shall be inserted into the roof scupper, and heat-welded
to the roof cover and base flashing. Termination or fascia bar shall then be used
to attach the remaining edges of the scupper liner to the outer face of the parapet.
Duro-Last caulk shall be applied to all edges of the termination bar on the exterior
of the wall. Roof scupper liners shall be furnished by Duro-Last, Inc.
On an enclosed end scupper box the Duro-Last deck and parapet materials must be
terminated with termination bar, strip mastic, and caulk before the prefabricated
scupper is installed. The opening must also be completely covered with sealant/water
block to provide for the adhering of the scupper liner.
TWO-WAY ROOF VENTS
Two-Way Roof Vents with attached skirt shall be installed at the density of one
per each 1000 square feet of deck area and any fraction thereof, with a minimum
of one per roof. Two-Way Roof Vents shall not in any instance be attached by means
of mechanical fasteners to the deck or field membrane and are not required on
non-heated porches, carport roof installations or refrigerated buildings. Mobile
home applications require an even number of vents (two minimum).
a) For new construction or reroof, after tear-off,
a two and one-half (2-1/2) inch hole cut down to the insulation facer is required
to provide for moisture relief of the Duro-Last System.
b) For recover applications a two and one-half (2-1/2)
inch hole cut down to the original insulation facer is required to provide for
moisture relief of the Duro-Last System. It is necessary to fill the hole below
the vent with fiberglass insulation.
