ANCHORS FOR GLAZING

Used on projects worldwide for decades, Halfen anchors provide designers and glazing contractors with reliable, strong, adjustable connections of glazing systems to building structures. Halfen also provides technical support for architects, specifiers, engineers and facade consultants to solve the most complex anchoring challenges.

Halfen anchor channels are available in a variety of sizes and capacities to suit almost all the curtain wall and storefront anchoring requirements of low, medium and high rise projects. Typically, Halfen anchors 12" [305mm] long are cast into the edge or top of the concrete floor slabs, providing adjustable connections with design capacities from 600 to 17,600 lbs [3 to 78 kN]. The curtain wall is then bolted back to the Halfen anchor with twist-in Halfen tee-head bolts. The bolted connection provides tolerance to accommodate on-site adjustment, reduce installation time and eliminate the high labor costs associated with drilling or welding.

In addition to the standard 12" long anchor channels, the design flexibility of the Halfen system also provides longer embeds for double mullion conditions, or shorter anchors at jambs, plus anchors for corner conditions. For anchor conditions in very thin concrete elements such as concrete-topped metal decks or where extremely close edge distances preclude the use of regular anchor channels, Halfen can also provide embeds with rebar tails, or custom design an anchor suitable for the specific application.

Complete connections with 3-dimension adjustability can be achieved when using Halfen serrated brackets along with Halfen cast-in channels. HTOS series all-steel serrated brackets are designed to efficiently anchor unitized or stick curtain walls to the top of concrete slabs. These brackets may be surface-mounted on the finished concrete floor, or installed within a pocket for applications with flush finished floors. Four bracket sizes are available to suit most curtain wall applications. Halfen HCW and HWL series curtain wall clips allow for 3-dimension adjustability for stick curtain wall systems anchored on the edge or face of slab. Three sizes of dead-load and wind-load serrated clips are available to suit most applications. Up-down and in-out adjustments are made with serrated washers on clip serrations with slotted holes. Left-right adjustments can be made when clips are used along with Halfen cast-in channels.

Halfen offers application assistance to architects, engineers, and contractors with engineering calculations and product selection to allow specification and installation of the most efficient anchoring systems for specific applications.

ANCHORS FOR PUNCHED & RIBBON WINDOWS SYSTEMS

Halfen offers a variety of connection methods to anchor punched and ribbon windows to precast concrete panels or slab curbs. Anchor channels from 1 3/4" to 6" [45 to 152mm] long can be used in concrete elements as thin as 4" [102mm] to provide excellent pull-out and shear capacities.

The system is complemented with a large range of fasteners to connect the glazing system to the cast-in Halfen anchors. Back-of-panel anchorage with one', two' or three-way adjustment can be designed, or "floating head" anchorages can be provided when used with the appropriate hardware.

Wind-post head anchors, and head and sill anchors with in and out adjustment can be provided using Halfen's toothed anchor channels. During installation, the embeds allow for easy in and out adjustments; once secured, the toothed tee-bolts lock into the toothed embed lips to provide mechanical resistance to wind and seismic loads.
