A LULA elevator is specially designed and equipped to meet the ANSI A17.1 Part
XXV Limited Use/Limited Application (LULA) standard. The basic requirements of
a LULA elevator include: car size up to a maximum 18 square feet, rated load
of up to 1400 pounds, travel limited to 25' and a speed of up to 30' per minute.
These and other unique features make the LULA elevator an ideal choice for
many places where a traditional elevator cannot fit or is inappropriate, such
as low-rise office buildings, churches and lodges.
There are several reasons why a FLEXI-LIFT elevator is preferable to a traditional
elevator.
- 1:2 roped hydraulic drive for smooth, quiet operation.
- Minimum 14" pit...no major excavation required.
- Reduced overhead clearance in existing buildings. Only 10'6" overhead required.
- Power unit and controller can be remotely located for construction design flexibility.
- Hoistway size can be reduced because a smaller car is permitted with a LULA elevator.
- Installation time is reduced because everything is wired, pre-assembled and tested before shipment.
By eliminating extensive site preparations and reducing installation time,
the elevator project can be completed in a timely, cost-effective manner.
For ultimate convenience in a new or existing commercial building that needs
to make multiple levels accessible, the FLEXI-LIFT is the answer.
A detailed, eight-page FLEXI-LIFT Planning Guide is available that includes

ThyssenKrupp Access is committed to being the world leader in the design, manufacture
and distribution of specialized lifting equipment for elderly and disabled
consumers to use in their homes, public and private buildings and places of
worship.
ThyssenKrupp Access began as American Stair-Glide in 1947, when a Kansas City
entrepreneur developed the Stair-Glide® stairway lift. The company began
selling the product and developing a nationwide dealer network. Once the network
was securely in place, we began to introduce new product lines to benefit the
elderly and disabled.
By 1991, we had developed so many products - ranging from vertical and inclined
wheelchair lifts to home elevators - that the American Stair-Glide name seemed
too confining. So we changed our name to ThyssenKrupp Access to reflect our
goal to open up any area of virtually any building to the elderly and disabled.
We proved access to a new freedom of movement.
In 1999, ThyssenKrupp Access was acquired by the nation's largest elevator
company, ThyssenKrupp Elevator, which even better positioned us to bring you
quality products and make us an industry leader.
