Up-Folding Retractable Backstop
Specify No. 219
Backstop folds up with hoisting winch for compact storage of both framework and
backboard. Special offset hinge fitting arrangement allows backstop to fold nearly
flat against a wall. Backstop extension is available in any dimension from 5'
to 12' from the wall. Ceiling height of 13' plus length of extension is required.
This style backstop is also available with the Center-Strut® height
adjuster.
Stationary Backstop with Center-Strut®
Specify No. 312
Simple, rigid diagonally braced design supports backboard at any extension from
6" to 12' from the wall. Porter’s Center-Strut® backstops
are designed with a direct-mount system, which provides a structural mounting
support plate directly behind the goal. This exclusive feature eliminates any
strain on the backboard during aggressive play and enables Porter to provide a
Limited Lifetime Warranty on all Porter Backboards. Backstop may be specified
with any fan or rectangular backboard. This style backstop is also available with
the Center-Strut® height adjuster.
Side-Folding Retractable Backstop
Specify No. 220
Backstop folds to side for economical, compact storage. This style is recommended
where low ceiling height or obstructions prohibit other folding methods. Backstop
is operational from the floor with a telescoping diagonal brace system with a
special locking mechanism. Offset hinge fitting allows backstop to fold nearly
flat against a wall. Extension is available in any dimension from 5' to 12' from
the wall. For folded space requirement add 2'-6" for rectangular board and
1'-6" for fan-shaped board to extension from wall. This style backstop is
also available with the Center-Strut® height adjuster.
NEW! Optional Electric Operation - Electrically folds the backstop using a 115-volt actuator. Integral limit switches provide automatic shut-off in both positions. Operate with any of Porter’s control systems. Maximum extension for this system is 10' from the wall.
Column Mount Backstops
Specify No. 310 and 311
Designed to mount a fan-shaped backboard and goal to exposed flange of straight column or sloped rigid frame. No. 310 is for a fixed goal height; No. 311 includes Center-Strut® manually operated height adjustment system. Backboard extends approximately 10" (No. 310) or 12" (No. 311) from face of column. Specify fan backboard and goal separately. Optional column padding available.
Center-Strut® height adjuster is available
on all of porter’s wall mount backstop systems.
With the addition of Porter’s Center-Strut® height adjuster,
goal height is easily adjustable to any height between 8' and 10' to accommodate
all age and skill levels. Limited Lifetime Warranty is offered on all Porter backboards
when installed on a Center-Strut® height adjuster. Height adjusters
are available with either manual or electric operating systems.
When using wall-mounted or overhead supported backstops near walls or other obstructions, wall padding is recommended behind units for maximum safety.
