Special-Lite^® SL-17 FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Polyester) Flush Doors are the logical choice for extreme applications such as educational, industrial, public works or commercial facilities subject to heavy traffic, physical abuse, vandalism or adverse environmental conditions. The SL-17 can deliver many years of trouble-free service under conditions that destroy other doors in mere months. For applications not likely to encounter such extremes, our sandstone-textured SL-20 FRP door is a good choice.

Delivers Exceptional Strength, Durability and Long Life

Special-Lite pioneered the use of FRP as a door skin for aluminum-framed doors, and our exclusive Spec-Lite 3^® FRP is colored throughout, scratch-resistant, fade-resistant, and impact-resistant, making our FRP doors incredibly tough.  Tested to 25 million open/close cycles and hurricane rated with State of Florida approval, there is no more durable flush door on the market.

A foamed-in-place urethane core contributes significantly to the strength of our FRP doors, and provides excellent thermal performance compared to a steel door, without adding unnecessary weight.  The core completely fills and seals the cavity of the door, creating a monolithic structure that is so watertight and lightweight, the door actually floats. All Special-Lite FRP doors are also GREENGUARD Certified for independent assurance of low emissions to protect indoor air quality.

Sandstone-Textured FRP Doors

The Special-Lite^® SL-20 Sandstone-Textured FRP Door features an exclusive, fine-grained face sheet that provides an aesthetically pleasing surface finish for entrance locations not expected to see deliberate abuse or vandalism. Sandstone-textured face sheets are available in white, beige, light grey and dark bronze through-colors, and can also be painted any color. The SL-20 features the same durable construction as all of our flush doors to deliver long service life, with an attractive appearance that makes it a perfect choice in all but the most abusive applications.

Special-Lite's new Sandstone-Textured FRP is also available on a fire-rated door. The SL-23 Fire-Rated Sandstone FRP Door is available for interior or exterior applications that require a 60-minute fire door. Sandstone face sheets on the SL-23 can be specified in the same color options as the SL-20.

FRP-Clad Fire-Rated Doors

The Special-Lite^® SL-21 FRP-Clad Fire-Rated Door is the perfect complement to our line of FRP entrance doors for locations that require a fire-rated door. Available in 30, 45, 60 or 90 minute rated versions, as singles or pairs up to 4' x 8' per leaf, the SL-21 can be specified in any of the color options available for the SL-17 FRP door.
