A Full-Vision Door for Heavy Traffic Applications Special-Lite® SL-14 Medium Stile and SL-15 Wide Stile Monumental Doors combine superior strength with the beauty of full vision for applications such as educational, institutional, commercial and religious facilities with high-traffic entrances prone to occasional abuse. 
Our Monumental Doors are made from rugged, one-piece stile and rail extrusions of 6063-T5 aluminum alloy with a minimum 1/8" wall thickness to resist denting and provide secure hardware attachment. Full-width 3/8" galvanized steel tie rods in all horizontals secure mortise and tenon corner joinery. The result is an incredibly tough and abuse-tolerant door, even in extra-large sizes. The SL-14 and SL-15 are available in any of our anodized or painted colors, or any custom painted color. 
Options for Design Flexibility Variable Tube WidthsThe SL-14 Medium Stile Door features 3-5/8² stiles, and 6-1/2² top and bottom rails. The SL-15 Wide Stile Door has 4-1/2² stiles and 6-1/2² top and bottom rails. A 10², ADA-compliant, one-piece bottom rail with two tie rods is also available. 
Mid-Rails Choose either a 4" or 6-1/2" mid-rail to contribute both strength and a design accent to the middle section of the door, while hiding exit devices from outside view. Mid-rails also separate the glass into two sections for easier replacement. 
Mid-Panels Special-Lite's exclusive SL-484 12" Mid-Panel offers design flexibility in addition to protecting the center portion of the door. Constructed with an aluminum frame, poured-in-place urethane core and two tie rods, it can be fabricated with any of our flush door face sheet materials. Proximity card readers can be built into the mid-panel for discrete access control.
