Bridge & Highway - Segmental Expansion Joint Systems

Wabo®ElastoFlex - Bridge

The Wabo®ElastoFlex bridge series joint system features a continuous gland of fabric reinforced EPDM rubber mechanically locked by modular steel reinforced EPDM anchor blocks. Ends of each anchor block tongue and grooved together to ensure a positive connection and prevent uplift or separation. The membrane gland which is installed continuous curb to curb has a total movement capability of 4 inches. The M shape seal configuration folds upward via its three preformed hinges allowing easy expulsion of debris and gravel.

Wabo®Flex

Wabo®Flex is a molded rubber cushion type expansion joint system designed for heavy traffic and snowplow loading. The molded monolithic units are reinforced with structural steel. High strength aluminum wear plates are molded into the top surface and grooved to provide skid resistance. To prevent uplift or separation, tongue and grooves are provided to ensure a watertight connection. The Wabo®Flex system can accommodate structural movements up to 13 inches.

Wabo®TransFlex

Wabo®TransFlex is the original-reinforced elastomeric molded rubber expansion joint system. All sections feature tongue and groove fittings for tight end-to-end mating across decks and at curbs and are steel reinforced. It can be installed in new decks, or in older structures on rehabilitation projects. All models adapt readily to skew angles. Properly installed, the Wabo®TransFlex system will accommodate anticipated thermal movements reject debris and create a level, smooth-riding, wear-resistant surface.

Wabo®SafetyFlex

Wabo®SafetyFlex (United States Patent No 6.751.918.) is an elastomeric hinged cover system that is ideal for pedestrian walkway areas as well as in low-speed vehicular traffic areas. Independent metal plates integral to the rubber cover allows the system to flex in response to changes in vertical displacement between opposing slabs.
