The Polytec^® shutter system

Polytec^® shutters are the result of nearly 6 years of development. The Polytec^® shutter system was specifically engineered for the exacting requirements of the contract, healthcare and hospitality markets. Beginning with a highly advanced formula for our PVC material and incorporating a unique manufacturing process that co-extrudes an aluminum core into the solid vinyl, Polytec^® shutters are the most technologically advanced shutters available in the commercial market today.

All of our stiles, rails and louvers are made with a co-extruded aluminum reinforcement. This gives us a very strong, rigid and durable component. The aluminum reinforced louvers, rails, and stiles make our Polytec^® shutter reliable and sustainable.

The co-extruded aluminum core allows us to assemble our Polytec^® shutters with screws for superior strength, unlike other poly shutters that are only glued together. The screws are run through the aluminum core in the stile into the aluminum core in the rail and are then capped. This produces a much stronger joint.

Polytec^® shutters have a longer life cycle than draperies or blinds. Our shutter was developed so that it is possible to make any repairs on site using our exclusive aluminum and screw system in lieu of the typical staple and glue systems used by other manufactures.

The Italian division of the international Renner Paint Company specially formulates all of our primer and paint for us. They have engineered their products to work specifically for us. These environmentally friendly water based finishes have no lead and virtually zero VOC's. The finishes also include UV inhibitors for a long lasting, fade resistant finish. Our paint is baked on to our Celuka finished co-extrusion shutter and is guaranteed for 10 years against chipping, peeling, cracking or warping.

As a green product, Polytec^® shutters are 100% recyclable and can be reformed to produce other PVC products. We fabricate materials that use minimal fossil fuel. Less than 50% of our shutter is made up of fossil fuel derived materials and thus has a much smaller effect on the environment than other competing products. Our unique formulation results in no off gassing, thereby reducing indoor pollution.

Polytec^® shutters have received both the GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality and the coveted GREENGUARD Children & Schools certifications. Polytec^® Shutters are a low emitting material and will positively effect a buildings indoor air quality. This 3rd party testing validates our product and creates a positive impact on any sustainable design offering by improving indoor air quality through specification of healthier building materials. With a choice of 4 standard colors, included stainless steel hinges, stainless steel staples, vertical louvers, 3 louver sizes and a huge selection of specialty shapes Polytec^® shutters offer an unbeatable selection of options to match commercial designs. Polytec^® can be manufactured with our hidden tilt operating system eliminating the need for a tilt rod, which simplifies the cleaning process and enhances visibility. They are also available in horizontal and vertical louver designs to meet any architectural need.

Polytec^® Shutters are moisture resistant and inherently flame retardant and certified to pass NFPA 701.
