The engineered ceramic particles contained within this layer provide
improved slip resistance, as well as enhancing the appearance of the
floor, to give a more natural matte texture.
All Amtico products offer excellent slip resistance and are ADA
(America Disabilities Act) compliant.
This layer is comprised of very dense material. Which as well as
providing excellent clarity to show the full beauty of the aesthetic
layer, offers extremely high resistance to indentation. This enables
Amtico to perform exceptionally well in high traffic areas and in
instances of high point loading (high heeled shoes, chair legs,
merchandising displays for example). Amtico floors are less reliant on
plasticizers, providing even greater stain resistance.
The aesthetic color layer is created by Amtico’s in-house design team.
Our designers use either digitally enhanced photography with
high definition printing to give our flooring its totally realistic
appearance, or a variety of techniques and effects to create our
innovative product portfolio.
The backing layer is a support layer, which provides strong adhesion
to the sub-floor as well as establishing a strong base for the aesthetic
and performance layers. Importantly, the backing layer on all Amtico
floors is made from 100% post industrial waste, making it kinder to
the environment.
